The Singapore National 3X3 League (NXL) continued its tour across the nation with an electrifying leg held at CQ@Clarke Quay last weekend. This marked the first time a basketball competition took place at the iconic fountain area, adding a unique backdrop to the high-octane event.
Champions Crowned
In a weekend filled with intense competition, Thailand’s CT Tigers showcased their dominance in the Elite Women’s division, clinching their second consecutive NXL title. They triumphed over Malaysia’s U23 team with a decisive 21-11 victory in the final.
The Elite Men’s division saw Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur team face off against Singapore’s NTSC1 team in a nail-biting match. With the scores tied at 16-16, Kuala Lumpur’s Run Sam Yap delivered a stunning last-second fadeaway shot, securing an 18-16 victory and the championship title.
Event Highlights
Held over July 13 and 14, the event attracted teams from around the world, competing fiercely in both the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s categories. The competition not only provided thrilling matches but also marked a significant milestone as the first basketball event at CQ@Clarke Quay’s fountain area.

Leading sports equipment company Anta has partnered with NXL to support the development of Singapore’s 3X3 basketball scene, serving as a sponsor for the remainder of the NXL 2024 season. Winners of the competition received up to S$1,000 in cash, $400 in cash vouchers from Anta, and product vouchers from esteemed sponsors.

3X3 basketball, pronounced three-ex-three, is a variation of traditional basketball played with three players on each side, using one backboard and a half-court setup. It is the largest urban team sport globally, known for its fast pace and exciting gameplay.
