Nineteen-year-old autistic artist Alex Lim, famously known as The Unskilled Boy, has reached a significant milestone in his burgeoning career by completing his 500th painting. To commemorate this achievement, he has released a captivating new series titled “Scenes,” featuring a blend of quirky indoor and outdoor moments.
Alex Lim began his professional artistic journey at the age of 15. Over the past four years, he has produced an impressive 500 paintings, encompassing 10 special series, four exhibitions, and numerous commissioned works from brands and individual buyers. His artistic talent has been recognized with the Shining HeARTS 2023 award, organized by North East CDC. Alex also participated as an Individual Artist at the fourth edition of the Shaping Hearts art festival last year and is set to exhibit five new paintings at the festival later this year.
The “Scenes” series is a mixed-media collection that combines acrylic paints, impasto, acrylic pens, and ink. This latest work captures an array of vibrant outdoor scenes and intimate indoor moments. Each piece reflects Alex’s keen observations and unique interpretation of everyday life, infusing humour and emotion into bustling public areas and quiet home settings.
Each painting in the “Scenes” series is available in four sizes:
