Saudia Reports Record-Breaking Year with 30 Million Guests Transported in 2023

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has soared to new heights in 2023, achieving remarkable milestones in operational performance and passenger transportation. The airline proudly announced the transportation of over 30 million guests throughout the year, marking a significant 21% increase compared to the previous year. This impressive feat was accompanied by the operation of more than 176.3 thousand flights, demonstrating a commendable 4% increase in flight activity.

One of the key drivers behind Saudia’s exceptional performance lies in its strategic enhancements to its operational model. By focusing on increasing seat capacity, flight frequency, and operational efficiency, Saudia achieved an impressive on-time performance rate of 86.44% in 2023, placing it among the top 10 airlines globally.

Internationally, Saudia played a pivotal role in connecting the world to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, transporting over 16.7 million passengers through its international flight network. This marked a substantial 36% increase compared to the previous year, supported by more than 79.4 thousand international flights, representing a 19% increase. Additionally, Saudia registered a noteworthy 26% increase in flight hours, totaling 382 thousand flight hours in 2023.

Domestically, Saudia continued to serve the Kingdom by transporting over 13.5 million passengers, showcasing a commendable 7% growth compared to the previous year. With 55% of its total flights dedicated to domestic destinations, totaling 96.9 thousand flights, Saudia accumulated 163 thousand flight hours within the Kingdom.

In line with its commitment to expanding its global reach, Saudia inaugurated operations to the Red Sea International Airport in 2023, alongside the launch of several international stations including Beijing, China, Birmingham, UK, and Johannesburg, South Africa. These initiatives underscore Saudia’s dedication to enhancing connectivity across various continents and strengthening its position as a leading global airline.

With flights to over one hundred destinations across four continents and a diverse fleet of 142 aircraft, Saudia continues to invest strategically in its infrastructure. Notably, the airline is focused on transforming King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah into a central hub for transit flights, bridging the East with the West. This initiative aligns with Saudia’s commitment to enhancing the travel experience for its guests through the adoption of cutting-edge digital systems, artificial intelligence technologies, and an upgraded system infrastructure aimed at elevating operational efficiency and punctuality.
