MGM’s Inaugural ‘Urban Yo~ga Wellfest’ Takes Macau by Storm: Featuring a Star-studded Lineup of Yoga & Fitness Instructors

What’s better than a weekend filled with yoga, music, and wellness by the beach? Macau witnessed its first-ever outdoor yoga and music extravaganza, “hush! Beach Concerts x Urban Yo~ga Wellfest,” and it was a resounding success! Co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and MGM, this mega event took place over the weekend of 4-5 November, drawing more than 20,000 local and international visitors to the breathtaking Hac Sa Beach.

MGM introduced its wellness IP Program, “Urban Yo~ga Wellfest,” which beautifully merged tourism, health, and music industries in a breezy and cozy outdoor setting. With the collaboration of MGM’s international network, the event brought over 40 renowned yoga and fitness coaches to Macau, delivering an array of world-class wellness classes onsite.

This wellness extravaganza featured an all-star lineup of globally acclaimed instructors, including MMA legend Choo Sung-hoon, popular fitness trainer Jordan Yeoh, yoga instructor Amanda Bisk, former Swedish national team gymnast Charles Fritzen, and Yoga Alliance RYT certified instructor Ivy Wang. Participants had the opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

The “Urban Yo~ga Wellfest” was divided into three thematic zones: Zen Garden, Fit District, and The Playground. All courses were led by international experts, covering traditional yoga practices as well as innovative wellness techniques. Attendees could explore Macau’s first-ever Gong Bath outdoor experience, try out SUP YOGA, and join large-scale dance classes with up to 200 participants.

But this event was more than just yoga and wellness; it was a fusion of two worlds. MGM and the Cultural Affairs Bureau brought together MGM’s original IP program, “Urban Yo~ga Wellfest,” and Macau’s beloved “hush! Beach Concerts” with over 15 years of history. From 27 October to 5 November, a series of music and wellness activities were held in various districts of Macau, offering a diverse range of entertainment options.

To elevate the experience even further, MGM teamed up with the Cultural Affairs Bureau to organize the “Music Cruise” on the MGM “Macau Cruise.” This extension of arts and music experiences featured “Mini Concerts” on board, combining land and sea routes to diversify the event’s venues and experiences. Participants could travel between Barra and Coloane via the sea route and enjoy a sightseeing cruise after indulging in yoga and music activities. This unique blend of activities made for a memorable and holistic experience.

The “Urban Yo~ga Wellfest” is a flagship event in MGM’s wellness tourism programs. To further promote the development of the wellness industry in Macau, MGM will host another wellness event, “WellFitXplore,” at MGM Cotai from 13 – 15 November. Over 300 wellness professionals from the Asia-Pacific region will gather in Macau to explore the latest industry trends, engage in training, and foster industry exchanges.
