[Review] Canadian 2 for 1 Pizza Launch Singapore-Inspired Hainanese “Chicken Rice” Pizza, Milo Churros to Celebrate National Day

Halal pizza chain, Canadian 2 For 1 Pizza, will be launching its latest limited edition menu in celebration of National Day from 10 July, 2023, featuring the likes of a Hainanese “Chicken Rice” Pizza. Drawing inspiration from beloved hawker favourites, this exclusive menu offers a delightful fusion of locally-inspired dishes that will tantalise taste buds and pay homage to Singapore’s food heritage.

We tried it and love most of the items:

1. Canadian 2 For 1 Hainanese “Chicken Rice” Pizza

A true marriage of cultures, this pizza takes inspiration from the iconic Hainanese Chicken Rice.

Featuring a Hainanese-style base sauce, generously topped with cheese, marinated chicken chunks, and juicy cucumber, this fusion pizza captures the essence of the beloved street food staple. A drizzle of sweet black soy sauce adds a signature touch. Served with a side of spicy garlic chili dip, this limited-time pizza, available only from 10 July to 30 September) is a must-try for every Hainanese Chicken Rice lover in Singapore, especially during National Day.

While the name and the ingredients put together seems strange, it was surprisingly tasty and does indeed, taste like Hainanese Chicken Rice! Both my son, Asher and I enjoyed the pizza very much and found it a success compared to many other local-inspired pizzas we have tried previously. This creation deserves to be in the permanent menu.

2. Otak! (6 Pcs, .90)

For those seeking an irresistible side dish or mid-afternoon snack, Canadian 2 For 1 Pizza presents “Otak!” – a crispy delight to complement the Hainanese Chicken Rice Pizza. Encased in a deep-fried popiah skin, the spicy fish cake is wrapped in the middle, oozing out with each bite.

3. Milo Churros (8 Pcs, .90)

Relive the nostalgia of the beloved childhood drink, Milo, with Canadian 2 For 1 Pizza’s Milo Churros. These crispy and buttery deep-fried churros are generously coated in Milo powder, served alongside sweet condensed milk. Kids will love this sweet treat.

4. Milo Dinosaur Drink (.20)

To complete the Singapore-inspired culinary experience, Canadian 2 For 1 Pizza introduces the Milo Dinosaur drink. This sweet treat starts with a base of Milo Drink, known for its chocolatey flavor, and is topped off with Milo powder for an even more intense taste. Rainbow sprinkles add a fun and colourful twist. This is too sweet for me, but those with a sweeth tooth will love it.

Starting 15 of July 2023, All Canadian 2 For 1 Pizza outlets, as well as their website and app, will offer the exclusive limited edition National Day menu. Delivery service is available every day, with delivery times ranging from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and extended until 2:00 am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Public Holiday Eves (selected outlets only).
