This mom and daughter duo managed through the pandemic by selling cakes online, now has a physical café at Katong V named Ree.Connect

Mummy-and-daughter duo, Celine (then 39-year-old) and Reeyern (then 10-year-old), worked together to start a home-baking business, Ree and Mummy (@reeandmummy) during Covid-19 Circuit Breaker to support the family finances.

Their innovative and delicious creations were well received and it managed to quickly amass a loyal following since. Owning a café was a distant dream, but it finally came true today with the official opening of Ree.Connect by Ree and Mummy at Katong V (#01-03), a simple and cosy 12-seater that serves up Ree and Mummy’s signature bakes, and more.

Charred Pineapple Cheesecake ($6.50 per slice)

The number one bestseller, is a creamy but light cheesecake that has the perfect balance of sweetness from the charred pineapple and cheese.

Creamy Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake ($6.50 per slice)

A light and soft, almost mousse-like, cheesecake that is topped generously with the popular Lotus Biscoff.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake ($7.20 per slice)

For chocolate lovers, a soft and creamy cheesecake on an Oreo base and topped with rich hazelnut ganache.

Gelato by Ree and Mummy

With Celine handling the bakes and her sister-in-law, Ashley Ng, responsible for the front of house, Celine’s husband, Mark Ng, joins this family-style café by churning out yummy gelato creations – Gelato by Ree and Mummy ($4.00 per single scoop, $7.50 for double scoop, additional $1.00 for premium flavours).

The must-try flavours include:

• Pineapple Cheesecake – the gelato version of Ree and Mummy’s Charred Pineapple Cheesecake
• Lemon Tart – a nostalgic ode to Kong Guan’s Lemon Biscuit
• Pistachios – crowd-favourite for its deep flavour and complete with actual pistachios bits
• Dark Chocolate – all chocolate and zero dairy

Never boring, and always thinking out of the box, Celine and Mark have also come up with the uber-cute Gelato Can by Ree and Mummy, the perfect takeaway gelato for yourself or as gifts to your loved ones!
