This year, the Indian Heritage Centre’s (IHC) Deepavali Open House welcomes everyone to celebrate the joyous occasion with an exciting array of programmes from 1 to 23 October 2022.
Deepavali Festive Decoration

A miniature replica of the Little India Deepavali street light-up arch along Campbell Lane beckons you into Indian Heritage Centre and invites all to welcome the festival of lights! Featuring oil lamp and peacock designs, this light installation serves as a warm greeting and is also the perfect backdrop to take a Deepavali #OOTD.
Money Packets
Date: 1 October – 23 October 2022

Take a photo at IHC, upload it onto social media with the hashtag #IHCDeepavali, and redeem limited-edition money packets featuring oil lamp and peacock designs from IHC!
Little India Trishaw Trails

Get into the festive mood this Deepavali with Indian Heritage Centre’s Trishaw Trails on Friday evenings! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a 15-min trishaw ride that will let you take in the sights, sounds, and festivities of Little India as the precinct ushers in the Festival of Lights.
Deepavali Big Bus Tour

Join a walkthrough of Little India Heritage Trail which also features the National Heritage Board’s Street Corner Heritage Galleries – Little India, featuring a collection of heritage businesses in the precinct. Listen to anecdotes of first- and second-generation heritage business owners and trace the evolution of this vibrant cultural precinct.
Community LEGO Mural
Date: 1 October – 23 October 2022
Venue: Indian Heritage Centre
You can contribute to this rangoli-inspired LEGO mural shaped by filling in coloured LEGO bricks to the white outline of the design. This community LEGO mural has been designed in collaboration with LEGO artist Jeffrey Kong.
Jeffrey Kong is a local artist who creates with building bricks. He is known for his retro and Singapore-inspired creations. As founder of Artisan Bricks his work includes sculptures, building kits, workshops and events.
Clay Oil Lamp Mandala Painting Workshop
Date: 15 & 16 October 2022

Festive Deepavali Dishes

This cooking demonstration by celebrity chefs – Devagi Sanmugam (Spice Queen) & Vasunthara Ramasamy (Masterchef SG S2) will teach participants how to make festive Deepavali meals, including breakfast and lunch dishes. The session includes a sampling of the dishes at the end.
Deepavali in Animal Land
