Nestled between the quaint rainforest of Sentosa and the sandy Siloso Beach, the charming 3000 sq ft of perfumery assists visitors in making their Signature Orchid scent and also organises free tours which are Augmented Reality (AR) enabled.

Scentopia is conceptualised and presented by Jetaime Group, the same folks previously behind the perfume workshops at Goodman Art Center, as well as Scent-OSA, an immersive perfume-making show conducted at Sentosa Nature Discovery. this newest concept would be their largest and most ambitious attraction to date.

Asher and I visited Scent-OSA previously for their perfume-making show. You can read about our experience here.

Perfume-making workshops are available at Scentopia as well, with prices starting from $95 for a one-hour workshop to custom make a 50ml bottle of your own scent and up to $125 for a 100ml bottle. Reservations can be made online via their official website.

Scentopia AR tour

The AR tour was a fun, educational experience for Asher. Powered by Facebook, simply open the Facebook app on your mobile device and point your camera towards the QR codes on display respectively for a variety of AR experiences. For instance, Asher was able to interact with animals and objects, while learning about various familiar flora and fauna in Singapore.

For the perfume-making workshop, you will be guided through a personality test by the friendly Scentopia team to determine the scents to go into a customised bottle of perfume based off your personality type. This will serve as a guide for you when selecting the combination of scents to mix together, but ultimately, you get to decide each of the scents and the amount of each to go into your perfume.

We enjoyed the process very much and I have been using the bottle of customised perfume I made at Scentopia daily since. Asher made a bottle for his grandpa which he proudly presented to him when we went to visit my parents over the weekend.
