All the Kid-Friendly Things to do at Madame Tussauds Singapore

Madame Tussauds Singapore is the seventh Asian branch of the Madame Tussauds chain of 26 wax museums worldwide. The museum first opened its door in 2014 and is located at the Imbiah Lookout of Sentosa Island in Singapore.

The museum features many wax figures of notable political icons, famous superstars, sports icons and others, including Yusof Ishak, Soekarno, Lee Kuan Yew, David Beckham, Sharukh Khan, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and many more.

Some uniquely Singapore figures featured in the museum includes the following notable individuals:

Phua Chu Kang, JJ Lin, Huang Wenyong
Yushof Ishak, the first president of Singapore
Singapore’s second prime minister, Goh Chok Tong
Singapore’s third and current prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong
The late founding prime minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew and his wife
Singapore’s top footballer, Fandi Ahmad
Feng Tianwei
Jack Neo
Stefanie Sun
Zoe Tay

Many people may have the preconceived notion that the museum is just for people to take photos with wax figurines of famous people past and present. However, there are actually lots of fun things for kids to do at the museum too. Here are some highlights.

Interactive football with Cristiano Ronaldo

At the sports section, there is a interactive football game whereby visitors get to kick a virtual ball and try to score penalty goals. Kids will love this.

Spirt of Singapore boat ride

This complementary boat ride comes with the admission ticket. Take a short indoor boat ride to discover the different facades of Singapore from the founding of the island by Sir Stamford Raffles to the global city it is today.

Virtual Reality F1 race car experience

The live-sized cars are 5.1m long and 2m wide and fully themed. The cars have VR HMD technology and a motion seat system integral within the car cockpit.

Dance with Bollywood stars

For those who love the song and dance world of Bollywood movies, the International Indian Films Academy Awards (IIFA) experience zone will allow you to take photos with your favourite Bollywood stars and even dance on stage like a star through an interactive installation.

Pose for photos with the stars (of course)

Pose for pictures with Marvel superheroes

From E.T. to the Marvel superheroes to Oprah Winfrey and Audrey Hepburn, not to mention Singapore’s very own Phua Chu Kang, kids and adults alike get to pose for pictures with their favourite celebrities.

Learn the science behind the wax figures

There is a zone in the museum which details the history of Madame Tussauds and how it all started, as well as the science behind the creation of the wax figures. Kids will be fascinated with how each of the figures come to life and are created from scratch with just wax.

Marvel 4D Experience

The new interactive Marvel experience will feature figures from Marvel’s most loved Avengers, as well as Asia’s first Marvel 4D Cinema.

We tried out the 4D show. You watch the show with 3D glasses in a cinema setting on custom chairs that will move, sprinkle water and even blow wind at you to add on the sensory assault while you are watching the Avengers like Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America and Spider-Man slug it out on the big screen with the villainous Dr. Doom.

The kids totally love this, judging from their excited chattering when the show ended.

Getting to Madame Tussauds Singapore

The best way to get to Madame Tussauds is to take the Sentosa Express monorail to Sentosa Island from the third level of VivoCity shopping mall. Alight at Imbiah Station, then head across Merlion Plaza to the escalators. After four flights of escalators, you will see the red carpet of Madame Tussauds Singapore.
