StarHub TV introduces new price plan – no more compulsory basic subscriptions

StarHub TV has introduced new pricing plan doing away with compulsory basic subscriptions. Called StarHub TV d’Lite, there are five packs offering customers more flexible viewing options along content genres – movies, sports, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

Movies d’Lite Pack
Powered by nine movie channels including household favourites FOX Movies and HBO, the Movies d’Lite Pack offers movie buffs an extensive selection of titles from award-winning arthouse films to the latest summer blockbusters.

Sports d’Lite Pack
Catch adrenaline-pumping sports programming with the Sports d’Lite Pack. Experience the excitement with the LIVE telecast of the Wimbledon Championships, PGA Championship and FIVB World Grand Prix.

In July, customers can tune in to Hub Sports 2 and Hub Sports 3 to support national swimmers Joseph Schooling and Quah Zheng Wen as they make a splash in the 17th FINA World Championships from 15 to 31 July.

August also marks the return of European football led by the UEFA Super Cup tie between Real Madrid and Manchester United.

In addition, football fans can look forward to their favourite stars plying their trade in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Chinese d’Lite Pack
Tailored to all aficionados of Chinese entertainment, the Chinese d’Lite Pack features the hottest drama selections, movies, variety shows and infotainment programmes. Jam-packed with exciting content, viewers can catch popular TV series from Hong Kong, Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan in addition to movie exclusives from top Asian producers and studios.

Malay d’Lite Pack
The Malay d’Lite pack showcases popular Malay entertainment and K-dramas which are either dubbed in Malay or come with Malay subtitles. Customers can enjoy the best of Malay entertainment with Hub Sensasi as well as movies (Hub Dunia Sinema VOD) and comedies (Astro Warna).

With three channels from MNC, the largest television network in Indonesia, customers can also catch the latest business news, celebrity news and Indonesian entertainment.

Tamil d’Lite Pack
The Tamil d’Lite Pack offers a mix of talk shows, game shows, news, music and movies from the biggest media companies in India such as Sun TV, Sun Music and Zee Tamil.

Catch the best curated Tamil content from India with local channels Vannathirai and V Thamizh, which also offer daily LIVE call-in talk shows.

The Pack also includes the first Tamil on-demand channel Hub Varnam VOD, which allows customers to view locally produced content as well as movies, awards presentations, dramas, and reality programmes anytime they wish.

The Sports, Chinese, Malay and Tamil d’Lite packs are priced at $19.90 each per month. The Movies d’Lite Pack costs $24.90 per month. The contract is for 12 months and includes one free set-top box for rent.
