The King Louis Grill & Bar @ VivoCity

When you go shopping at VivoCity, did you notice a medieval suit of armor beside a few of the escalators? These are advertisement for the medieval themed restaurant, The King Louis Grill & Bar, located on the third floor of VivoCity at unit #03-07A (beside Daiso).

The King Louis Bar & Grill at Vivocity

The restaurant has been in operations for over a year now and has been popular with family and kids. It was named the Best Family Restaurant by Parents World magazine in 2011.

Since it’s a family restaurant, there is a kid’s menu

Rachel and I went there to dine on a Monday evening. We should have brought Asher along since it is a family restaurant, but it was rather late and we did not have time to fetch him from my parents’ place to Vivocity for dinner. A pity.

These are the items we sampled:

Teriyaki Chicken Salad (Fresh garden salad, grilled chicken breast meat topped with teriyaki sauce and parmesan cheese) – S$13.80
Banana Bacon Bites – S$10.50
Signature mushroom soup – S$8.90 and pumpkin soup – S$7.90
The Queen Victoria (Meat & Seafood): serves 2-3pax – S$108.50
Items include Roasted beef with black pepper sauce, Premium BBQ baby back ribs, Pan Seared snapper with wasabi mayo sauce, Oven Baked King Prawns with melted Australian cheese, Sauteed scallop with garlic & wine sauce
Here is another picture of the Queen Victoria banquet platter to give a sense of proportion

The serving for the banquet platter was really huge. Rachel and I felt like Knights of the Round Table, feasting at a medieval banquet. The theme and concept for the restaurant is interesting and would make a great place for large group gatherings.

I can see how kids would love to throw their birthday parties here and companies have their corporate events, fitting to the medieval theme.

The restaurant has a clear window view of Sentosa island and on weekends, you can witness the fireworks from Resorts World Sentosa while enjoying your meals.

There is also nightly live music and an open bar for those who looking to knock a pint or two like in the days of the shiny knights.
