Tan Cheng Bock, Tan Kin Lian or George Yeo for President?

Can’t decide?

Perhaps the three mock-up I have done of Tan Cheng Bock, Tan Kin Lian and George Yeo‘s potential presidential portrait with their respective spouses can help you decide:

Dr and Mrs Tan Cheng Bock
Dr and Mrs Tan Cheng Bock
Mr and Mrs Tan Kin Lian
Mr and Mrs Tan Kin Lian
Mr and Mrs George Yeo
Mr and Mrs George Yeo

After all, the elected president in Singapore’s role is often said to be largely ceremonial rather than functional. Look how dignified our outgoing President S.R. Nathan and his wife look in their portraits that are hung all over Singapore schools and other government buildings:

Mr and Mrs S.R. Nathan
Mr and Mrs S.R. Nathan

  1. Mr & Mrs Nathan do look dignified in the above picture. But those pictures were taken in a professional environment with makeup artist etc, to ensure the outcome is befitting for a head oi state.

The portraits of the other 3 potential candidates and their spouses (maybe with exception to GY & TKL) are not valid reflection of how they would look should they be elected. I believe most photos, if not all, are garnered from cyberspace, which are probably not something one would use in the portraits of head of states.

I don’t know what is your true intent of posting such portraits for comparison, but I see it as a little bit mischievous.

  2. Ya Yamasam, d-uh…

Anyways Alvin it’s still early days yet. Mr and Mrs Tony Tan are missing from the above.

  3. Chiam is running meh? I don’t think he can meet the stringent candidate criteria though – he was neither a Minister or a senior civil servant nor the CEO/Chairman of a company with over $100m capital.
