Bee Cheng Hiang is introducing a new way for customers to enjoy its signature bakkwa with FreshPack’d, a collection of individually sealed, ready to eat grilled meat strips available exclusively at its new concept store at VivoCity.
The new offering features nine flavours, allowing shoppers to select individual strips, mix different varieties or put together a box of 12 to share. Each strip is individually sealed to help retain its tenderness and smoky aroma, while allowing customers to enjoy one portion at a time and keep the remaining packs sealed for later.

The concept is designed to give customers more flexibility when buying bakkwa, whether they want a quick snack while shopping, a treat at work or a selection of flavours to share with family and friends. Shoppers can pick up the colourful packs directly from the shelves or order their preferred flavours by weight or number of strips, with no minimum purchase requirement.
FreshPack’d draws on Bee Cheng Hiang’s traditional method of charcoal smoking bakkwa on bamboo sieves. After grilling, each strip is sealed using a gentle air removal process rather than high compression vacuum packing. The approach is intended to preserve the meat’s familiar texture and smoky flavour in a convenient, portable format.

One of the highlights is the return of Applewood Sliced Pork, a seasonal favourite first introduced in 2020. Brought back specially for FreshPack’d, the flavour is available exclusively at VivoCity. Premium pork hind leg is smoked for two hours over applewood imported from the United States, giving the meat a distinctive smoky aroma that complements its savoury sweetness.
Applewood Sliced Pork is priced at S$8.30 per 100g, joining eight other varieties in the collection. These include Gourmet Bakkwa, made with tender pork belly, and Chilli Gourmet, which combines pork belly with a housemade sambal featuring chilli, garlic, shallots and shrimp paste.
Gourmet Fusion offers a combination of pork belly and pork hind leg, bringing together the richness of the former and the firmer texture of the latter. Other options include Sliced Pork, Minced Pork, Chilli Pork, Sliced Chicken and Sliced Beef, giving customers a mix of classic flavours, spicy options and different meat choices.
Prices for FreshPack’d start from S$7 per 100g, with approximately four to five strips per 100g. All prices include GST.
The individual packaging also makes it easier for customers to sample flavours without committing to a larger pack of each variety. They can combine familiar favourites with new options or select different flavours for sharing, making the collection suitable for both everyday snacking and casual gatherings.

FreshPack’d represents the latest development in Bee Cheng Hiang’s more than 90-year history. From its beginnings as a street hawker business in Chinatown in 1933, the brand has continued to introduce new ways for customers to enjoy its signature grilled meat while maintaining the traditional craftsmanship behind its bakkwa.
The nine flavour FreshPack’d collection is available exclusively at Bee Cheng Hiang’s new concept store at VivoCity, bringing a more flexible way to enjoy the brand’s bakkwa in Singapore.
