I recently brought my son Asher to CLOVE at Swissôtel The Stamford for lunch to try its limited-time Taste of Korea buffet.

Running from 14 September to 15 November 2026, the Korean-themed buffet brings together Korean barbecue, stews, street food, banchan and desserts, alongside CLOVE’s usual international and seafood buffet spread.

The Korean selection covers many of the dishes you would expect to find on a Korean table, including Galbi Beef Short Rib, 24-Hour Pork Shoulder Bossam, Ssam BBQ Pork Belly, Gochujang Chicken, Korean Fried Chicken, Kimchi Jjigae, Tteokbokki, pork dumplings and Bibimguksu.

I went for lunch with Asher and we enjoyed the food quite a bit. The spread has most of the Korean culinary essentials. There is plenty to choose from if you are in the mood for a Korean-style meal but want the variety that comes with a buffet.

Of the dishes we tried, I particularly enjoyed the cold noodle from the live station, grilled pork and beef as well as the seafood pancake. The grilled meats were easy to return to for another serving, while the pancake offered a nice change from the heavier meat and stew dishes.

There are also plenty of other Korean comfort-food options to work through, including kimchi stew, tteokbokki, Korean fried chicken and traditional banchan.

For weekend dining, the selection gets upgraded with dishes such as Korean Beef, Lobster Kimchi Stew, Spicy River Prawn Bibimguksu and Abalone Porridge.

At the same time, CLOVE has not turned its entire buffet into Korean food. The Korean dishes sit alongside its regular international and seafood selection, including sushi, sashimi, chilled seafood, carvery dishes and other hot food. This makes it a practical option for families or groups where not everyone is looking for Korean food.

The dessert selection also follows the Korean theme. There are Korean-inspired creations such as Ginseng Coffee Tiramisu and Black Sesame Opera Cake, together with a Rice Mochi Station and Black Sesame Soft Serve.

The restaurant was packed when we visited for lunch. There was a steady stream of diners at the buffet stations, and it was clear that the Korean takeover has attracted plenty of interest. It is worth making a reservation if you are planning to visit during a busy lunch or dinner period.

For me, the biggest draw of this buffet is the variety. You can focus on Korean favourites such as the grilled meats, cold noodles, pancake, bossam and fried chicken, then move on to the seafood and international stations if you want something different.
