Anime fans and pop culture enthusiasts can look forward to a week of cosplay, collectibles, art and interactive activities when City Square Mall hosts Anime Earth by the Singapore Cosplay Club (SCC) from 28 September to 4 October 2026.
The event is part of City Square Mall’s Enter the PlayVerse: Shop, Play & Discover campaign, which brings Japanese pop culture, festive activities and community experiences to the mall. Anime Earth will take place at the Level 1 Atrium, with activities spread across two atrium spaces.
Atrium A will feature festival themed booths throughout the week, with interactive game booths joining the line up from Friday to Sunday. Atrium B will host an exhibition by visual storytelling educator and Takahan Toy Art Museum creator Takahan Tan from Monday to Thursday, before opening up to other emerging local artists over the weekend.
Visitors can also take part in complimentary drawing workshops on 3 and 4 October. Two sessions will be held each day from 2pm to 3pm and 4pm to 5pm. Registration is free, with participants able to select their preferred date and session when signing up.
The event also offers rewards for shoppers who want to get into the spirit of the festivities. From 2 to 4 October, shoppers who spend S$20 in a single receipt can redeem either a traditional Japanese Supā Bōru Sukui, or Super Ball Scooping, game experience, or a yukata experience for up to four family members at the Anime Earth game booth. Redemptions are limited to the first 500 each day and are available through the CityNexus app.
Anime Earth follows other Japanese pop culture activities held at City Square Mall earlier in the campaign. From 7 to 13 September, Matsuri Square by Simply Toys featured anime merchandise, collectibles and themed photo opportunities inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries and Dandadan.
With its mix of anime merchandise, cosplay activities, local art, games and workshops, Anime Earth gives visitors an opportunity to explore Japanese pop culture while supporting Singapore’s cosplay and creative communities.
