Insta360 X6 Launches in Singapore with 8K 360 Video and Three Cameras in One

Insta360 has unveiled the X6, its new flagship 8K 360 camera designed to combine 360 capture, subject tracking and action camera capabilities in a single device.

The launch comes as Insta360 marks its 10th anniversary in the 360-camera market. The company says the X6 represents the biggest upgrade in the history of its X series and is designed to handle travel, adventure and everyday shooting without requiring multiple cameras.

The X6 goes on sale from 12 August 2026 through the Insta360 Store, Shopee, Lazada and selected retailers worldwide. In Singapore, prices start at S$939 for the Standard Bundle, while the Essentials Bundle is priced at S$1,039.

According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Handheld Smart Camera Tracker Report for Q1 2026, Insta360 currently holds a 71 percent value share of the global panoramic camera market. The X6 is positioned as the company’s latest flagship as it looks to build on that position.

At the centre of the X6 is a pair of custom Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors designed to deliver 1-inch equivalent 360 imaging. Insta360 says the sensors provide 33 percent more sensor area than the previous X5 and around four times the light intake per frame.

The camera is powered by a triple AI chip system consisting of an 8-core 3.3GHz 4nm processor and two dedicated imaging chips. According to Insta360, the setup delivers 500 percent more computing power than the X5, a 106 percent faster clock speed and 35 percent lower power consumption.

For low-light shooting, the X6 introduces a dedicated low-light mode with two ambient light sensors designed to reduce flicker and retain more detail in night scenes. AdaptiveTone 2.0 independently meters each lens and captures two exposures per frame to expand dynamic range.

The X6 is also the first 360 camera from Insta360 to feature native in-camera Dolby Vision. Its system analyses dynamic metadata frame by frame to adjust contrast and brightness, while 10-bit colour recording supports more than 1.07 billion colours.

One of the camera’s key features is its three-in-one design. Users can switch between 360 camera, subject-tracking gimbal camera and single-lens action camera modes.

In 360 mode, the X6 records at up to native 8K at 50 frames per second, allowing users to capture the entire surrounding scene and choose their preferred framing later. Insta360’s InstaFrame 2.0 can also lock onto and track people, pets and objects, producing flat 4K footage directly from the camera.

The new Foldable Selfie Stick Remote Kit adds joystick controls for gimbal-style shooting without requiring a separate gimbal. With the optional POV Head Tracker, framing can instead follow the user’s eyeline.

For conventional action camera use, the X6 can switch to single-lens mode and record up to 5K at 60 frames per second. It can also capture a 170-degree wide angle at 5K30fps and 4K at 120fps for slow-motion footage.

The camera is supported by more than 100 accessories covering activities such as cycling, motorcycling, diving, driving and everyday shooting. Its magnetic mounting system remains compatible with existing X5, X4 Air and Ace series mounts.

Among the new accessories are the X6 Power Selfie Stick, which adds up to 180 minutes of additional runtime, the Foldable Selfie Stick Remote Kit, Bullet Time Selfie Stick 2.0 and Fast Charge Case with dual battery and dual SD card slots.

For motorcycle riders, the dedicated motorcycle set includes a holographic speed dashboard overlay, automatic looping dashcam mode and automatic licence plate blurring. Cyclists can also add statistics overlays from Garmin, Apple Watch and other compatible devices.

For underwater use, the Invisible Dive Case Pro allows the X6 to operate at depths of up to 60 metres while keeping the case outside the camera’s stitch line. Car users can attach the camera to glass using compatible mounts, including an Electric Suction Cup Mount.

The X6 features a 2.32-inch OLED display with up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness and an always-on design. Full Screen Press is also designed to keep controls responsive when users are wearing gloves.

Its new 2,600mAh Xtreme Battery provides up to 140 minutes of 8K30fps 360 recording, which Insta360 says is 51 percent longer than the X5. The battery can charge from empty to 80 percent in 24 minutes and is designed to operate in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

The camera also features Insta360’s Star-Ridge cooling system, which the company says operates 10 percent more efficiently than competing 360 cameras. Replaceable Lens 2.0 is claimed to be five times more scratch resistant than the previous generation and 60 percent cheaper to replace.

The X6 is waterproof to 20 metres without a case and up to 60 metres with the Invisible Dive Case Pro. It also comes with 64GB of total built-in storage, of which 47GB is usable, allowing users to record without immediately adding a memory card.

Audio is handled by a four-microphone omnidirectional windproof array, alongside a separate Hidden Engine Mic designed for motorcycle use. Intelligent Audio Mode automatically adjusts according to the recording environment, while users can connect up to two Insta360 Mic Air or Mic Pro transmitters through Direct Connect.

FlowState Stabilization and 360 Horizon Lock are included for smoother and level footage. Connectivity features include NFC touch-to-connect, Wi-Fi 6.0 with wireless transfer speeds of up to 100MB per second, USB 3.0 wired transfer speeds of up to 450MB per second and improved Bluetooth pairing.

For professional workflows, the X6 supports I-Log recording for greater dynamic range and 10-bit colour for post-production. Insta360 Studio remains available for free on Mac and Windows for 360 editing, stitching and exporting.

The camera also introduces Insta360 PanoMind, an AI system designed specifically to understand spherical 360 footage. According to Insta360, the model was trained on more than 10,000 hours of footage across over 30 scenarios, including travel, daily life, winter sports, motorcycling, diving and cycling.

PanoMind powers AI Director, an automatic editing feature that can analyse footage directly on the camera while it is charging and create highlight videos for the Insta360 app. The processing takes place on the camera rather than in the cloud, and users can disable the feature.

For users who want more control, Auto Edit 2.0 can create complete edits from one or multiple clips, automatically handling framing, camera movements, cuts, music and transitions.

The X6 also works with Insta360+ Cloud, which provides up to 2TB of storage and can back up selected footage while the camera charges. Cloud files can be used with Moments Pro, a cloud-based editing tool developed with Google Gemini that allows users to generate videos based on a chosen subject, mood, style and timeframe.

Customers who purchase and activate the X6 before 30 September 2026 will receive one year of Insta360+ Premium cloud storage with 500GB capacity, along with three months of Moments Pro offering two clips per month, at no additional cost. Customers who purchase and activate an X5 or X4 Air during the same period can receive one year of Insta360+ Premium with 200GB storage.

Insta360 FlexiCare remains available as an optional add-on, providing accidental damage coverage with up to four replacements over two years. Early buyers will also receive a 90-day free replacement policy during the launch period, while Insta360’s Trade-In programme allows customers to receive cash value for eligible older cameras and equipment towards a new X6.
