SHISEIDO Unveils Vital Perfection Intensive SculptDefine Serum Powered by New Lifting Science

SHISEIDO is ushering in a new chapter for its anti-ageing skincare range with the launch of the Vital Perfection Intensive SculptDefine Serum, the first serum in the Vital Perfection line designed to target visible skin lifting through research inspired by advanced technology studying facial sagging. Featuring the newly developed D AminoLift Complex, the serum builds on decades of SHISEIDO’s scientific research to help create firmer, more sculpted looking facial contours while reinforcing the brand’s belief that beauty and confidence continue to grow with age.

Since the introduction of the Vital Perfection collection in 2014, SHISEIDO has embraced the philosophy that “Potential Has No Age”, a message represented globally by brand ambassador Anne Hathaway. The latest addition to the range advances this vision by targeting three key areas commonly affected by sagging, namely the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and jawline, helping reduce visible signs of ageing for a more defined appearance.

The new serum is backed by SHISEIDO’s extensive research into the causes of skin sagging. Researchers studied 1,000 individuals from different age groups and ethnic backgrounds using advanced MRI analysis, identifying the zygomaticus major as a key facial muscle linked to visible sagging. As this muscle naturally weakens with age, facial contours become less defined. The research also found that healthy blood flow deep within the face helps nourish this muscle, while reduced circulation over time contributes to further weakening.

These findings led to the development of the serum’s formulation. At its core is the new D AminoLift Complex, which supports Power Collagen, also known as Type I Collagen, to strengthen the skin’s foundation. Niacinamide and SafflowerRED work together to help protect blood flow and nourish facial muscles from within, while Watercress Extract, Angelica Root Extract and Chai Hu Extract contribute to smoother and firmer looking skin. SHISEIDO’s signature 4MSK ingredient is also included to visibly reduce dark spots and improve overall skin clarity.

Despite its advanced formulation, the serum has a lightweight and dewy texture that absorbs quickly into the skin while providing up to 24 hours of moisture, leaving the complexion feeling smooth, refined and radiant.

According to SHISEIDO, clinical studies showed measurable improvements after four weeks of use, including a 14 per cent increase in skin elasticity, an 11 per cent reduction in the appearance of nasolabial folds and a 15 per cent reduction in marionette lines. Continued use delivered further benefits, with neck wrinkles reduced by 11 per cent after eight weeks and jawline sagging reduced by 14 per cent after 12 weeks. When paired with the Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Advanced Cream, visible improvements were reported to be up to twice as effective.

The SHISEIDO Vital Perfection Intensive SculptDefine Serum will be available from 1 September 2026 at all SHISEIDO boutiques and counters across Singapore. It will retail at S$238 for the 40ml bottle and S$365 for the 80ml bottle.
