These Hand-Painted Chocolate Mooncakes from Janice Wong’s New Collection Might Be the Prettiest You’ll See This Mid-Autumn

Mid-Autumn Festival may still be a little while away, but Janice Wong‘s 2026 mooncake collection is already here, and it is every bit as artistic as you’d expect. This year’s line-up introduces a brand new Floral & Tea baked mooncake collection, alongside returning Signature Baked Mooncakes, the brand’s iconic hand-painted Chocolate Mooncakes and a limited edition Wooden Lantern.

Known for turning desserts into edible art, Janice Wong has once again put her creative spin on the traditional mooncake. The launch also featured a striking chocolate wall installation.

The standout this year is the Limited Edition Wooden Lantern ($105). Inspired by the folds of traditional paper lanterns, the beautifully crafted keepsake opens up to reveal eight assorted baked mooncakes, together with an exclusive ceramic plate and two matching forks.

Making its debut is the new Floral & Tea Baked Mooncake Collection ($49 for a tin of four), featuring four delicate flavours inspired by flowers and premium teas. Osmanthus Honey is lightly floral with a touch of natural sweetness, Jasmine Green Tea is fragrant and refreshing, Hibiscus Yuzu brings together bright citrus and tart floral notes, while Milk Oolong Bergamot Peel finishes with smooth, creamy tea flavours and a gentle hint of bergamot.

Returning favourites in the Signature Baked Mooncake Collection ($49 for a tin of four) include Black Sesame Pecan Tangerine Peel with its rich roasted nuttiness and subtle citrus finish, Chocolate Sea Salt Black Truffle for a savoury-sweet combination, Pistachio Longan Red Date with naturally sweet dried fruit notes, and the classic Salted Egg with its buttery molten centre.

Of course, it’s hard to miss Janice Wong’s signature Chocolate Mooncakes. Available from $49 for a tin of four or $70 for a tin of eight, each one is individually hand-painted in vibrant colours and finished with intricate floral details, making them almost too pretty to eat. Inside, you’ll find playful flavour combinations such as Pistachio Yuzu Salted Caramel, Yuan Yang Brown Rice Tea Hazelnut, Aged Pu’Er Mandarin Lotus Seed Praline Sea Salt and Malted Chocolate Bergamot Earl Grey, staying true to the brand’s love for unexpected pairings.
