Google is rolling out Gemini Spark to Google AI Pro subscribers in Singapore over the next few weeks, introducing a new AI agent designed to handle everyday digital tasks automatically in the background. Available to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in English and local languages, Gemini Spark marks a shift from AI that simply responds to questions to an assistant that actively completes tasks under the user’s direction.

Powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini Spark operates on Google’s secure cloud infrastructure and integrates natively with Google Workspace applications including Gmail, Docs and Sheets without requiring additional setup. The AI agent continues working even when a user’s laptop is closed or phone is locked, helping to manage routine digital chores while freeing up time for more important priorities.

Google emphasises that Gemini Spark always operates under the user’s control. Users decide whether to enable the service and which Google apps it can access. For actions with greater consequences, such as sending emails or making purchases, Gemini Spark is designed to request approval before proceeding.

The AI agent can be customised with prompts tailored to different lifestyles and needs. Travellers can automate the organisation of flight and hotel confirmations into a Google Sheet and have local activities added to their calendar during free time. Those planning their weekends can ask Gemini Spark to compile local events every Friday, recommend activities based on their interests and even add selected events directly to their calendar.

Sports enthusiasts can automate court availability checks, such as monitoring the PickleMe app for indoor pickleball courts while taking weather conditions into account before sending alerts. Couples planning weddings can have Gemini Spark organise RSVP responses, summarise dietary requirements into a table and draft emails for caterers.

For personal finance, the AI agent can review monthly invoices in Gmail, identify subscription price increases or expiring free trials and prepare cancellation emails for review. Small business owners can use it to scan customer enquiries, draft personalised replies with relevant service recommendations and pricing, then save the responses as drafts before sending.
