Starbucks is marking its 30th anniversary in Singapore by introducing Slowdown Hours, a new weekly in store ritual designed to encourage customers to pause and recharge during the middle of the week.

Launching on 15 July 2026, the initiative will take place every Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm at more than 120 Starbucks coffeehouses across Singapore. Running through 30 December 2026, Slowdown Hours transforms an ordinary hour into a recurring experience that invites customers to embrace a gentler pace amid their busy schedules.
The concept is built around the idea that 3pm is often when energy levels begin to dip and attention starts to fade. Whether customers are taking a break between meetings, catching up with friends, pausing from studying or simply enjoying a quiet moment alone, Starbucks hopes the weekly ritual will become something people can look forward to and return to regularly.
During Slowdown Hours, participating Starbucks stores will introduce subtle changes to create a more relaxing atmosphere. Softer lighting and a specially curated music playlist will help signal a slower pace, while customers will also receive a Slowdown Card featuring prompts for reflection, conversation or quiet observation for those who wish to linger a little longer.
To celebrate the launch, Starbucks is introducing a Reset Set inspired by familiar local coffeehouse traditions. The set pairs the newly crafted Starbucks Kopi Siew Dai, made with less sweetness, with a mini croissant served with a choice of kaya butter or peanut butter, offering a comforting mid-afternoon refreshment.
Customers visiting Starbucks Reserve stores during Slowdown Hours can also enjoy a manual coffee brewing experience featuring rare, small lot Reserve coffees. Prepared using brewing methods such as pour over, Chemex or siphon, the experience allows customers to watch the brewing process unfold while appreciating the craftsmanship behind each cup.
More than a one-time campaign, Slowdown Hours is intended to become a regular weekly ritual that reflects Starbucks’ belief in the value of small, meaningful moments in everyday life. By creating a dedicated time each week for customers to pause, reflect and reconnect, the coffee chain hopes to make Wednesday afternoons a little more enjoyable as it celebrates three decades of serving communities across Singapore.
