To commemorate the festival’s 10th edition, a new orchid hybrid named Papilionanthe Singapore Garden Festival was unveiled during the Awards Night. The hybrid traces its ancestry to Singapore’s national flower, Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim, while reflecting the festival’s international spirit through contributions from British, American and Australian breeders alongside Asian orchid species. Visitors can view the commemorative orchid display at The Meadow as they enter the festival grounds.

A commemorative book titled Singapore Garden Festival: Celebrating Nature, Inspiring Gardens Since 2006 was also launched to mark the occasion. The publication chronicles the festival’s journey over the past two decades, highlighting its milestones, defining moments and the individuals who have shaped its success. It will be available for purchase at the Festival Shop throughout SGF 2026 before becoming available at Gardens Shops in the Singapore Botanic Gardens from 13 July onwards.

Flower enthusiasts can also explore the Singapore Orchid Show, organised in partnership with the Orchid Society of South East Asia. The exhibition showcases rare, unique and award-winning orchid varieties grown by hobbyists and industry partners, featuring both warm and cool growing species from around the world. This year’s competition attracted entries across eight sections and 52 competition classes.

Held alongside the orchid show at the Flower Dome is Orchid Extravaganza: Rhythm of the Rainforest, an Indonesian themed floral showcase presented in partnership with the Ministry of Creative Economy of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore. The display features more than 7,000 orchids, including native Indonesian species and hybrids, alongside traditional handwoven artworks crafted using coconut leaves and bamboo. Visitors can also admire recreations of traditional Sumbanese houses, Balinese Meru towers and decorative motifs inspired by Toba Batak patterns and intricate ikat designs, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago.

This year’s festival carries the theme “Carnival of Blooms”, transforming Gardens by the Bay into a colourful horticultural spectacle filled with immersive experiences for visitors of all ages. Greeting guests at The Meadow is an impressive eight metre high Floral Roller Coaster, a striking floral installation that recreates the excitement of a roller coaster using sweeping tracks lined with lush tropical plants and cascading blooms.

Several themed gardens are also making their festival debut, including Nature’s Carousel Play Garden, Sensory Garden: Forest of Sweet Delights, Sunkissed: A Celebration of Sunflowers and Silver Garden. As night falls, the festival takes on a different atmosphere with interactive light installations, including the Known by Flowers Light Installation by renowned Chinese landscape designer Hu Shiyang.

Beyond the floral displays, visitors can enjoy daily live performances, food and beverage offerings, floral workshops, demonstrations and a MarketPlace organised in partnership with Planters Market. Other signature festival highlights include the 14th International FDSS Cup Floral Designing Competition, Community Garden Edibles Competition, Singapore Gardeners’ Cup, Landscape Design Challenge and the Penjing and Artistic Stone Exhibition and Competition.
