Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a special Canada Day High Tea event hosted by Air Canada, Destination Vancouver, and the Canadian High Commission. The gathering was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Vancouver and celebrate a nation known for its warm, inclusive spirit and diverse culture. This year’s Canada Day celebrations hold exceptional momentum for the country as Vancouver steps into the global spotlight.
Flag carrier Air Canada is currently marking two years of its successful nonstop Singapore to Vancouver service.

This direct flight route was officially launched in April 2024. The nonstop connection serves as an ultra long haul bridge connecting our two global hubs, allowing travellers to journey effortlessly from Singapore Changi Airport to Vancouver International Airport. With a flight time of less than 15 hours on this nonstop service, travellers arrive in Vancouver rested and ready to explore the city.
During the event, Air Canada unveiled its new Glowing Hearted long haul cabin designs.

These updates represent the airline’s most significant cabin investment to date and will debut on their new Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787 aircraft. The design delivers a distinctly Canadian experience that emphasises comfort, care, and connection for all customers on every flight while signaling the airline’s bold growth ambitions.

Passengers can expect elevated comfort across the board, as all customers will enjoy all new ergonomic seats, significantly larger 4K OLED screens equipped with Bluetooth audio, and high powered outlets at every seat for a more restful journey.

For those flying in premium cabins, customers travelling in Air Canada’s Signature Class can relax and recharge with new amenity kits created by Canadian company Hunter Amenities. These luxurious kits feature a reusable contoured eye mask, soft cabin socks, and premium Canadian made essentials, including skincare products from the award winning brand Sahajan.

The inflight culinary experience is equally impressive. Travellers can look forward to a Taste of Canada with complimentary Canadian spirits, local beers including Molson Canadian and Creemore Springs, and new Célébration Mini Maple Leaf Cookies by Leclerc available on international flights departing Canada. Furthermore, the award winning inflight menu is curated by celebrated Michelin starred chef David Hawksworth.
There has never been a better time for Singapore travellers to discover what this extraordinary city has to offer. The spotlight is currently falling on Vancouver as a proud host city of a landmark global sports tournament. Additionally, the city was recently named one of National Geographic’s ‘Best of the World’ destinations for 2026. According to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 report, 90 percent of Singaporeans plan to travel the same amount or more in 2026, increasingly seeking purposeful and experience led journeys. Vancouver is well positioned to meet this growing appetite.
Vancouver is a city that captivates in every season.
It quietly became one of the world’s great culinary cities, boasting a vibrant Gastown food scene and craft brew experiences alongside Michelin starred dining.
For those seeking wellness and rejuvenation, Vancouver acts as a living laboratory for holistic health by offering activities like forest bathing and yoga at different locations across the city.
For families, it is a safe, active, and endlessly entertaining destination in all seasons. The city offers multigenerational experiences that create lasting memories for the whole family, ranging from the Vancouver Aquarium and Science World to the magical festive traditions of the Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain and Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

As Canada’s premier gateway city, Vancouver looks forward to welcoming more visitors from Singapore to experience its breathtaking natural landscapes and diverse activities.
