Club Med is expanding its luxury all-inclusive portfolio in Asia with the announcement of a new Exclusive Collection Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand, developed in partnership with Central Group Capital.
The two companies have signed a Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) for the highly anticipated beachfront property, which is set to become Club Med’s first Exclusive Collection resort in Thailand and its second overall resort in the country.
The new property is expected to open in the second half of 2028.
Club Med first entered Thailand in 1985 with the launch of Club Med Phuket, and the upcoming Koh Samui resort marks a significant next chapter for the brand in one of Southeast Asia’s most popular travel destinations.
The new resort will also become the third Club Med Exclusive Collection property in the East, South Asia and Pacific (ESAP) region.
Designed for discerning travellers seeking elevated all-inclusive experiences, Club Med’s Exclusive Collection tier represents the brand’s highest-end offering.
Located just 25 minutes from Koh Samui Airport, the new resort will be situated on the island’s northern coast and feature a private beachfront spanning more than 200 metres.
The 303-room property is envisioned as a chic and contemporary island retreat that captures the relaxed yet vibrant lifestyle of Koh Samui.
Guests can expect direct beach access, watersports, and a wide range of leisure activities in a scenic tropical setting.
The project includes a full redevelopment and enhancement of the existing site, with plans for:
Among the highlights will be Kids Club, which offers tailored activities based on age groups, and Amazing! Family, Club Med’s family bonding programme focused on shared discovery and meaningful experiences.
The resort’s design will also draw inspiration from local Thai culture and the island’s natural beauty.
The development is backed by Central Group Capital, the fund management arm of Thailand’s leading conglomerate Central Group.
Central Group Capital launched its inaugural fund in April 2023, raising 10 billion Thai Baht (approximately US$300 million), the largest fund of its kind in Thailand.
The fund focuses on selective hospitality investments aimed at capitalising on Thailand’s tourism recovery and long-term growth potential.
The official unveiling ceremony for the Koh Samui project was held at Club Med Kiroro Peak in Japan.
