W:RLD Launches Modern Menswear Brand Built for Heat and Movement

In today’s fast-paced urban environments, where rising temperatures and constant movement shape daily life, dressing well has often meant sacrificing comfort. New menswear label W:RLD is aiming to change that narrative with its debut, introducing a wardrobe designed to keep up with modern living, without compromising on style.

Guided by its philosophy, “Style That Defies the Heat,” W:RLD presents a collection that is both functional and refined. The brand focuses on creating pieces that are not just visually appealing, but practical for the realities of everyday wear, offering clothing that adapts seamlessly to shifting environments and activities.

W:RLD was founded by Lucas Yong, together with co-founders Wayne Lin, Roger Poon, and Priscilla Lai. The team brings together a unique blend of expertise spanning luxury fashion, design, and technical garment engineering. Their combined experience informs the brand’s vision of redefining menswear for a world that is increasingly dynamic—and significantly warmer.

For Lucas Yong, the launch marks a return to his roots in fashion. After studying design in Milan, he spent over two decades building a career in marketing and brand leadership across Asia and Europe. His résumé includes senior roles such as Managing Director for Asia Pacific at De Rigo Group, as well as positions with Cartier Singapore, Mondial Rare Jewels, and Frank & Co. Jewellery. Since founding his own marketing and communications agency in 2012, he has worked with a wide range of luxury and lifestyle brands.

Despite his success, Yong observed a persistent gap in the market. While modern lifestyles demand versatility, moving from meetings to workouts, travel, and social engagements, traditional menswear has remained largely static and ill-suited to these transitions.

This insight became the foundation for W:RLD.

Partnering with Wayne Lin, a second-generation garment maker with deep expertise in fabric engineering and manufacturing, the brand was developed to bridge the gap between style and performance. Lin, who previously launched an athleisure label in Taiwan, contributes technical precision and a deep understanding of how fabrics behave in motion and heat.

The result is a collection that blends European-inspired design restraint with a contemporary, urban sensibility. W:RLD’s debut lineup includes blazers, trousers, shirts, T-shirts, and polo tees, each designed to transition effortlessly across work, travel, training, and social settings.

Central to the collection are proprietary fabric technologies such as UrbanQool, AerQool, and HumiQool. These materials are engineered to be lightweight and breathable, while effectively managing heat, moisture, and odour. The focus is on enhancing mobility and comfort without sacrificing a polished appearance.

Rather than making bold, attention-grabbing statements, W:RLD takes a more understated approach, prioritising intelligent design and practical innovation. The brand positions functionality not as an afterthought, but as the foundation of its aesthetic.
