Last night, Marina Bay illuminated the Singapore skyline to celebrate the arrival of the Disney Adventure.

The highly anticipated vessel is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to homeport in Asia and successfully completed her maiden voyage on 10 March. To mark the occasion, Disney Cruise Line partnered with UOB, Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Tourism Board to launch a nautical themed celebration titled Adventure Begins: A Magical Bay Celebration with Disney Cruise Line.

The opening event kicked off with a surprise live performance by Disney Legend Lea Salonga, who delighted audiences with classic songs from Mulan and Cinderella.

This was followed by a lively appearance from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse before culminating in a spectacular ten minute sky show.
Set against the Marina Bay waterfront with iconic landmarks lit in blue, the sky show took visitors on a musical and visual journey through the seven themed areas of the ship.

We were treated to brilliantly choreographed displays representing Disney Imagination Garden, Toy Story Place, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef and Marvel Landing. The show was set to a medley of fan favourite tunes including Let It Go and Under the Sea.
Adding a unique local angle to the celebration, the sky show featured Peranakan inspired motifs alongside references to Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, and the iconic Merlion.

For those who missed the opening night, the spectacular sky show will continue its run this weekend on 14 March and 15 March at 8.30pm. The organisers encourage visitors to enjoy the views from various vantage points across the Marina Bay precinct to avoid overcrowding in a single area.
The sky show serves as the highlight of a two month long precinct wide partnership that runs until 30 April. During this period, visitors to Marina Bay can discover Disney Cruise Line themed photo spots, participate in fun activities and enjoy special promotions exclusively for UOB cardmembers.
