Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 Series, positioning it as its most intuitive and proactive AI-powered smartphone lineup to date. Comprising the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, the third-generation Galaxy AI phones are designed to reduce the steps users take to complete everyday tasks, from organising schedules to editing photos, by handling complex processes quietly in the background.

The new series reflects Samsung’s growing push toward “agentic AI,” where the device anticipates user needs and acts seamlessly, allowing people to focus on results rather than the mechanics of technology.
Smarter Performance, Built for All-Day Reliability
At the core of the Galaxy S26 Series is Samsung’s most powerful hardware yet, anchored by a customised chipset across the lineup. Leading the charge, the S26 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, delivering significant gains in CPU, GPU and NPU performance.
Samsung reports:
- Up to 19% faster CPU performance for quicker multitasking
- 39% improved NPU performance for always-on AI features
- 24% stronger GPU performance for smoother visuals and gaming
A redesigned Vapor Chamber and enhanced thermal interface materials improve heat dissipation, ensuring sustained performance during demanding tasks such as gaming and 4K video capture.
The S26 Ultra also introduces Super-Fast Charging 3.0, reaching up to 75% battery in just 30 minutes, minimising downtime for heavy users.
Samsung’s proprietary ProScaler enhances image clarity, sharpening fine text and details, while the upgraded mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) delivers more lifelike colours with four times the processing precision of the previous generation.
A More Powerful and Intuitive Camera System

Creativity remains central to the Galaxy S experience. The S26 Ultra features wider camera apertures for brighter, more detailed low-light photography, alongside improved Nightography Video for clearer footage in dim environments.
Upgraded Super Steady stabilisation now includes a horizontal lock option for smoother framing during fast-paced activities.
Notably, the S26 Ultra becomes the first Galaxy device to support APV, a new professional-grade video codec designed for efficient compression while maintaining visually lossless quality. a feature aimed at serious content creators.
AI enhancements extend to the selfie camera with more natural skin tones and finer detail in mixed lighting conditions.
AI-Powered Editing Made Simpler
The upgraded Photo Assist suite allows users to describe edits in natural language, from transforming a daytime shot into night to restoring missing parts of objects. Users can also modify outfits, clean up imperfections and review edits step-by-step.
Creative Studio consolidates tools into a unified workspace, enabling users to turn sketches or prompts into stickers, invitations and personalised wallpapers without switching apps.
Meanwhile, AI-powered Document Scan removes distortions and distractions instantly and can automatically combine multiple images into a single PDF for easy digitisation of receipts or forms.
A More Conversational Galaxy AI Experience
The Galaxy S26 Series is designed to proactively assist users through features like Now Nudge and Now Brief, which surface timely suggestions and reminders based on context, such as suggesting trip photos when a friend requests them or flagging calendar conflicts when a meeting is mentioned.
Circle to Search with Google now includes enhanced multi-object recognition, allowing users to identify multiple items within an image simultaneously.
Samsung’s upgraded Bixby functions as a more conversational device agent, enabling natural language navigation and settings adjustments.
In addition, the S26 Series integrates third-party AI agents including Gemini and Perplexity. Tasks like booking a taxi can be completed with a voice command and a single confirmation tap, with the system handling multi-step actions across apps in the background.
Privacy at the Pixel Level
With AI playing a larger role in personalisation, Samsung is doubling down on privacy.
The S26 Ultra introduces Privacy Display, a built-in hardware-and-software solution that limits side-angle visibility while preserving full viewing quality for the user. Unlike traditional privacy films, it maintains display clarity when inactive and can be customised to activate during sensitive actions such as entering PINs or accessing selected apps.
Additional protections include:
- AI-powered Call Screening for unknown callers
- Real-time Privacy Alerts when apps request sensitive data
- Private Album within Gallery for hidden media
- Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) enhancements for firmware and software verification
Security is further reinforced by Samsung Knox, including Knox Vault and Knox Matrix updates, with seven years of security updates promised for long-term protection.
Seamless Ecosystem with Galaxy Buds4
The new Galaxy Buds4 Series complements the S26 lineup, enabling voice activation of AI agents and call management through head gestures on Buds4 Pro, extending hands-free interactions beyond the phone itself.
