The Civil Service Club (CSC) is ushering in the 2026 Lunar New Year with a heavy dose of local nostalgia by partnering with popular Singaporean creator Wang Shijia.
This year, the clubhouses are transformed through a thematic collaboration featuring the iconic Ang Ku Kueh Girl, bringing a touch of heritage and whimsy to the festive season.
Starting from 26 January 2026, visitors and members can get their hands on a limited edition red packet set. These special collectibles feature all 12 Chinese zodiac animals reimagined in the signature style of Ang Ku Kueh Girl, complete with her recognisable bonnet and clever wordplay for each sign.
To secure a set, guests can sign up for or renew a CSC membership or book a stay at any CSC chalet.
The highlight of the celebrations was a CSC Lunar New Year Bazaar 2026, held on 31 January 2026 at CSC @ Tessensohn. The event offered a packed schedule of activities for the whole family. Artist Wang Shijia led a storytelling session for children, sharing tales from her illustrated book series, while a life sized Ang Ku Kueh Girl mascot was available for meet and greet sessions.
The bazaar featured more than 30 stalls with popular merchants like Baker’s Brew, Everbloom Artistry, and Royce Fruits. Beyond shopping, the atmosphere was kept lively with traditional lion dance performances, feng shui talks, and auspicious calligraphy writing. Younger visitors enjoyed balloon sculptures and arcade games, while food enthusiasts got to join a gourmet workshop hosted by Chef Lisa to learn festive recipes like Fu Gui Man Tang. Admission to the bazaar was free for all members of the public.
Since its establishment in 1971, the Civil Service Club has remained a cornerstone of social life for public service officers, offering a range of facilities from the dog friendly bungalows at Loyang to modern clubhouses at Changi and Bukit Batok. This latest collaboration with Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends continues that mission by connecting the community through a shared love for local culture and festive traditions.
