HeritageSG and Tencent Launch WonderBot 2.0 to Transform Learning at Children’s Museum Singapore

HeritageSG and Tencent have announced a strategic partnership aimed at bringing immersive, game-based learning and conversational artificial intelligence into Singapore’s museums and heritage institutions. The collaboration kicks off with the launch of WonderBot 2.0 at the Children’s Museum Singapore (CMSG), marking a new chapter in interactive heritage education.

In 2025, Tencent contributed over S$750,000 in technology support and cash funding to strengthen digital initiatives across Singapore’s museums and heritage sector. This includes the development of WonderBot 2.0. The company has also committed to expanding its support over the next two years to further advance culture, heritage, and the arts in Singapore.

The debut of WonderBot 2.0 represents Tencent’s first social impact collaboration in Singapore. Powered by Tencent’s digital avatar technology, 3D modelling capabilities, and semantic understanding systems, the AI-driven companion enables voice-responsive conversations, interactive missions, and personalised learning journeys tailored to young visitors.

Reimagining Heritage Learning Through Play

Located on the first floor of CMSG’s exhibition space, WonderBot 2.0 serves as an intelligent guide that interacts directly with children as they explore exhibits. By combining conversational AI with gamified learning elements, it transforms a traditional museum visit into a dynamic, two-way experience.

Through quizzes, storytelling, and hands-on missions, WonderBot encourages children to ask questions, experiment, and discover stories from Singapore’s heritage in an intuitive and engaging manner. The system adapts to different age groups, ensuring that content remains accessible, relevant, and stimulating for each child.

The initiative aligns with CMSG’s mission to inspire learning through play, while also supporting Tencent’s broader “Tech for Good” commitment, which focuses on youth education and sustainable innovation.

A Platform for Future Innovation

Beyond its initial installation at the Children’s Museum Singapore, the partnership establishes a broader platform for HeritageSG to pilot and scale digital initiatives across its programmes and institutions. It also opens up opportunities to collaborate with technology partners and local creative talents, building shared capabilities and accelerating innovation within Singapore’s heritage sector.

WonderBot 2.0 will officially be available to the public from 4 February 2026 as part of the Children’s Museum Singapore’s permanent interactive experience.
