Tired of Talk? Earthopia Fest 2025 by City Sprouts and Just Keep Thinking is Where Singapore’s Green Future Gets Hands-On This Weekend

Singapore welcomes our first ground-up, youth-led sustainability festival this October. Earthopia Fest 2025, co-organised by social enterprise City Sprouts and educational media company Just Keep Thinking, take over Dhoby Ghaut Green this weekend on 24 and 25 October and everyone is welcome.

We attended the media preview yesterday and it featured an eclectic mix of curiosity and celebration, transforming climate action from a daunting task into an engaging, hands-on, and fun experiences for a wider public appeal. The two-day event aims to transform public apathy into tangible action by making sustainability engaging, practical, and celebratory.

From 10am to 10pm daily, explore a wide array of hands-on workshops, immersive art installations, live music, and a marketplace of conscious brands, all designed to empower the community to adopt greener habits.

Zac Toh, Founder and CEO of City Sprouts, shared that the festival reflects their vision of bringing communities together to “live, learn and act sustainably.” He hopes attendees will “roll up their sleeves, try something new, and discover joy in making a real difference, together.”

The festival is structured around three core themes: Climate Action, Circular Living, and Wellness.

Under Climate Action, Biogirl MJ (Kong Man Jing), co-founder of Just Keep Thinking, is leading a content creation workshop to help youths tell powerful sustainability stories. “Science and sustainability should be fun, relatable, and easy to put into practice,” she shared, highlighting the festival’s goal to show that small lifestyle changes can make a real impact.

The Circular Living track offers a series of hands-on sessions where participants can learn to upcycle everyday waste. Highlights include transforming plastic bags into keychains with .bungkus and giving school uniforms a second life into sling bags with The Circular Classroom. For those interested in fashion, the Circular Style zone features a “ Bag It” thrift experience by Cloop and upcycling workshops for old t-shirts and totes.

The Wellness track connects self-care to planetary care, offering activities like Elemental Yoga with Gayle Nerva and a restorative Gong Bath sound healing session by Lost and Sound, set within the greenery of Dhoby Ghaut Green.

Beyond workshops, the festival will feature live music throughout the day from roving acts and Beans & Beats, culminating in evening performances by local artists like Benjamin Kheng, Island Voices, and Estelle Fly.

A retail marketplace and F&B zone spotlights sustainable local businesses, including The Wild Swells for natural lip balms, The Powder Shampoo for plastic-free haircare, and Sunbird Brewing Company for craft beer.

The hands-on spirit of Earthopia is its biggest draw.

We saw attendees completely immersed in workshops, learning about glass upcycling with Refind and converting coffee ground to scrubs with The Sustainable Project. It is one thing to be told to reduce waste, and another to physically turn a discarded item into a treasure you can take home.

If you are looking for something meaningful to do this weekend, consider heading down to Dhoby Ghaut Green.
