In a fast-paced world, stress has become an undeniable part of daily life, with recent reports revealing that 87% of Singaporeans experienced high stress levels. In 2023, 16% of Singaporeans found our stress “not manageable”—a rate higher than the global average.
With the new year approaching, many Singaporeans are turning to meditation, an ancient practice proven to promote calm, focus, and resilience, rather than pursuing short-lived wellness trends. One such transformative method, Himalayan Samarpan Meditation, is gaining traction locally thanks to Journey to Inner Peace, a Singapore-based organisation dedicated to making meditation accessible to all.
Himalayan Samarpan Meditation, a practice founded by Shree Shivkrupanand Swami, or ‘Swamiji,’ traces its roots to the spiritual heritage of the Himalayas.
With its emphasis on simplicity and profound spiritual depth, this meditation technique has been shared worldwide since Swamiji introduced it in 1994. Journey to Inner Peace, which has hosted annual free meditation events in Singapore since 2015, attracts over 1,500 participants each year. These gatherings offer Singaporeans the chance to practice meditation together, fostering a supportive community and bringing peace to many in the bustling city-state.
