Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled a series of immersive and destination-rich itineraries for the inaugural Asia Pacific season of the Norwegian Sun in 2025. These voyages mark NCL’s first foray into the region, featuring several brand-new routes and ports of call.

Australian Debut and South Pacific Adventures

Norwegian Sun will make its Australian debut in December 2024, with arrivals in Brisbane on the 18th and Melbourne on the 21st, following an 18-day voyage from Papeete through French Polynesia and the South Pacific. This exciting journey includes 10 ports of call and sets the stage for a diverse range of new itineraries.

Groundbreaking Itineraries and New Ports

NCL introduces three new itineraries to the Great Barrier Reef and South Pacific, including the first turnarounds in Cairns and Lautoka, Australia. Additional highlights include island-hopping cruises in French Polynesia between Fiji and Tahiti, and two new Asia sailings.

This season marks several milestones for both NCL and Norwegian Sun, with debut visits to Port Douglas, Townsville in Australia, Aitutaki in the Cook Islands, and Suva, Fiji. The ship will also make first-time calls at Mystery Island and Port Vila in Vanuatu, Dravuni in Fiji, Noumea in New Caledonia, and Kushiro in Japan.

14-day South Pacific: Fiji, Vanuatu & Great Barrier Reef, Cairns to Lautoka

Departing on April 23 and August 20, 2025, this itinerary offers 10 ports across three South Pacific countries. Highlights include Airlie Beach, Townsville, Noumea, Lifou, and three destinations in Fiji. Guests can enjoy snorkeling in Mystery Island, Vanuatu, or windsurfing in Nouméa, New Caledonia.

14-day Lombok, Komodo & Great Barrier Reef, Bali to Cairns

Setting sail on April 9, 2025, this route features overnight stays in Bali and Lombok, and a full day at Komodo. The voyage continues to Cooktown, Townsville, Airlie Beach, and Port Douglas, offering opportunities to explore the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach.

14-day French Polynesia, Fiji & Samoa, Lautoka to Papeete

Departing on May 7 and September 3, 2025, these sailings include Aitutaki, four stops in French Polynesia, an overnight in Suva, Fiji, and a visit to American Samoa. Activities range from kite surfing in the Cook Islands to paddle boarding in Bora Bora and exploring waterfalls near Suva.

Additional Itineraries

NCL also offers a 12-night Southeast Asia voyage between Singapore and Bali departing March 28, 2025, several sailings between Papeete and Honolulu with overnight stays, and three ‘Fire and Ice’ voyages between Honolulu, Alaska, and Vancouver departing in June and October 2025.

Norwegian Sun, with a guest capacity of 1,936, offers an intimate cruising experience. The ship features 15 dining options, including Cagney’s Steakhouse and Los Lobos Mexican Cantina, alongside French, Italian, Brazilian, Asian, and Japanese cuisine. Entertainment includes the Stardust Theatre’s signature show “Rock You Tonight,” and various bars. Families can enjoy amenities like Splash Academy, the Video Arcade, and the Mandara Spa.
