City Square Mall is poised to unveil a stunning transformation following a S$50 million Asset Enhancement Initiative (AEI) set for completion in 2025. Nestled at the intersection of Serangoon and Kitchener Roads, the mall, owned and managed by City Developments Limited (CDL), is gearing up to redefine the shopping and dining experience with a host of exciting new offerings and sustainable features.
The AEI, which kicked off in the third quarter of 2023 and is nearing completion of Phase 1, aims to enhance the mall’s operational efficiency, layout, and functionality while adding approximately 26,000 square feet of Gross Floor Area (GFA). Leveraging initiatives like the Community/Sports Facilities Scheme and optimizing mechanical and electrical facilities, the AEI promises to breathe new life into the 11-storey landmark.
One of the most anticipated enhancements is the creation of a culinary haven at Level 4 and a revamped food court at Basement 3, along with the extension of retail spaces from Level 2 to Level 4. This expansion not only diversifies the mall’s F&B options but also elevates the overall dining experience with modern interiors, community-based initiatives, and sustainable practices.
Elevated Dining Experience
Prepare your taste buds for a culinary journey like no other! Returning favorites such as Crave, EAT., Nam Kee Pau, and Ya Kun Kaya Toast will share the spotlight with new additions like Jie Traditional Bakery, Munchi Pancakes, Taning (挞柠), and Towkay Fried Chicken. Plus, food enthusiasts can look forward to the grand opening of the revamped Food Republic at Basement 3 in May 2024, featuring a nostalgic theme and local delights galore.
But the gastronomic delights don’t stop there—Level 4 will be transformed into Gastro Square, a vibrant 24,000 square feet space offering a diverse array of international and local cuisines to tantalize every palate.
Community-Focused Initiatives
In line with its commitment to fostering community spirit, City Square Mall’s AEI will introduce dedicated community spaces on Level 4, offering various programs for youths and families. Additionally, a Performance Area will provide a dynamic hub for social gatherings, events, and cultural activities, further enriching the mall’s vibrant atmosphere.
Sustainability at its Core
Reflecting CDL’s dedication to sustainability, City Square Mall will integrate upcycled materials into its new interior decorations, showcasing circularity and environmental consciousness. From lift lobbies to wall finishes, sustainable decorative eco-materials will breathe new life into the mall’s aesthetic.
As the AEI progresses into its second phase, City Square Mall remains committed to providing uninterrupted shopping and dining experiences for its valued patrons. Temporary signage and directories will ensure smooth navigation around areas undergoing renovation, while groundbreaking initiatives and lasting memories await in the mall’s bright future.
