One of the flagship events of the anniversary year is The TENG Company 20th Anniversary Gala Night, scheduled for May 24. This fundraising concert will feature 10 new commissions created in collaboration with 20 local creatives from diverse ethnic backgrounds. These works will celebrate Singapore’s cultural tapestry and artistic heritage, following the storytelling framework of 起 (Beginning), 承 (Exposition), 转 (Re-direction), and 合 (Harmony). The gala aims to raise funds to support TENG’s ongoing programs and operations, ensuring its continued growth and impact.

The celebration will continue with The Singaporean Composers Series (起承转合), presented by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Temasek Foundation as part of the Cultural Extravaganza 2024. This series will showcase the commissioned works from the gala, further amplifying Singapore’s rich musical identity.

In addition to these marquee events, TENG will host community concerts, educational instrumental concerts, and collaborations with cultural institutions such as The Private Museum. The organization will also continue its commitment to nurturing local talent through the Mapletree-TENG Scholarship, awarding four new scholars and extending mentorship opportunities to up to six individuals in 2024.

Beyond fostering musical talent, TENG remains dedicated to using music as a tool for social impact and community outreach. The TENG Gives Back program will deliver 50 performances to hospices and hospitals, while a research project with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory will explore the therapeutic benefits of live music for the sick and elderly. Additionally, initiatives like Music for Mindfulness and TENG x COPE aim to promote wellness and disaster resilience through music education and outreach.

TENG’s commitment to inclusivity is further exemplified through partnerships with organizations like the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, supporting students with special needs in discovering their musical potential.
