Deliveroo data says Orchard residents are Singapore’s biggest Chicken Rice fans

Fair warning: this is about to make you hungry. Very hungry. Deliveroo, Singapore’s most-loved food delivery service, has revealed the top food order by district in Singapore and there are some big surprises in store.

Ever wondered which area orders the most of Singapore’s favourite dish, Chicken Rice? Well, Orchard residents take the top spot ordering more of the nation’s staple dish, than sushi, fries and noodles put together!

While Deliveroo can safely say that all Singaporeans are tam chiak, it turns out we have some very specific preferences when we identify as an Eastie or if we belong to the “West is Best” camp.

In the East corner, it’s Nasi Lemak all the way. But while residents of Paya Lebar and Serangoon are plumping for Chicken Cutlet, their neighbours in Bedok and Tampines are partial to the crispy Chicken Wing take on this sedap local dish.

Over in the West, Taiwan and Japan have a bigger influence on our foodie cravings, with Bukit Batok, Jurong and Boon Lay racking up hundreds of orders of Oyster Mee Sua between them. Those living in the North West, however, have found their soymate in Japan’s famous sushi rolls. Moving up toward the North, we’re feeling all the feels for Nasi Ayam Penyet. Woodlands and Ang Mo Kio can’t get enough ofthat smashed, fried chicken!

While most of the top foodie choices are inspired by the cuisines of our local Asian neighbours, down in Bukit Merah and Alexandra, it’s Spain’s Paella Rice that takes the number one spot. On Sentosa, residents and visitors are feeling all the beach club vibes, with snackable French Fries most in-demand.

And in the CBD? Those office workers just can’t get enough of smoked salmon. On salads, in sandwiches or paired with an egg, they’ll take smoked salmon just about anyway they can get it.

Is your go-to order on Deliveroo in line with the results, or is your foodie preference a little out of the box?
