Roche, MDAS & Atout Partner to Host Rare & Share Dining Experience for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Awareness and Support”

In a heartwarming collaboration aimed at raising awareness and funds for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Roche, in partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (MDAS) and European restaurant Atout, is set to introduce its Rare & Share Dinner series to Singapore for the first time.

Scheduled to coincide with the rarest day of the year on February 29, 2024, this unique dining experience promises to be both enlightening and charitable. The event aims to shed light on the challenges faced by individuals living with SMA while also supporting crucial SMA care programs through MDAS.

The Rare & Share Dinner will feature a meticulously crafted 4-course menu, conceptualized by Chefs Azrin Rahman and Patrick Heuberger of Atout. Each dish has been thoughtfully designed to emulate the various stages of SMA and the evolving relationship individuals with SMA have with food.

COURSE 1: AMUSE BOUCHE TRIO

Featuring contrasting textures of Green Gazpacho served from a syringe, Gruyère Cheese Gougère Puff encasing bits of smoked salmon, and Crispy Iberico Pork Cheeks & Trotter “Cromesquis” with Apple Gel, this course symbolizes the joy of food discovery during the early stages of SMA.

COURSE 2: FOIE GRAS ROYALE

A delicate dish resembling Japanese Chawanmushi, the Foie Gras Royale signifies the preference for soft textures as SMA progresses. Foie gras is folded into eggs with black winter truffles, served with an oversized spoon to simulate feeding challenges.

COURSE 3: WAGYU OYSTER BLADE

Highlighting the round-the-clock care needed for SMA patients, this main course features 24-hour slow-cooked Wagyu Oyster Blade, tender and juicy, best enjoyed with celeriac puree.

COURSE 4: LEMON VACHERIN GLACÉ

Ending on a sweet note, the Lemon Vacherin Glacé pays tribute to childhood indulgences while conveying hope for SMA patients. A delicate Amalfi lemon sorbet wedged between vanilla meringues with tart berry coulis swirls.

The Rare & Share Dinner Concept launches on February 29 at Atout and will continue every Wednesday until March 27. Priced at S8++.
