Halloween Town: Yokai Festival 2023 – A Supernatural Extravaganza

Halloween Town: Yokai Festival 2023 is making its triumphant return in October, promising an otherworldly experience for all. This unique event blends supernatural allure with family-friendly fun, drawing inspiration from ancient Japanese mythology – Yokai, the playful and eerie supernatural beings. At the heart of this festival, captivating installations, hands-on kids’ coloring contests on weekends, thrilling blaster gun battles, and spine-tingling performances await eager visitors.

Yokai Parade

Date: October 28th | Time: 7.30 – 9.30 pm

As twilight descends, prepare to be awestruck by the breathtaking Yokai Parade at Downtown East’s Event Square. The first 30 attendees to register for the walkabout on UPlay will receive coveted Yokai lanterns, casting an ethereal glow over the parade. Led by Kandy Onna, the parade seeks to restore corrupted innocent Yokais with your help. Marvel at the half-faced magician Kage’s sinister magic tricks, witness Shin’s unnerving shape-shifting movements, and be captivated by The Flames of Yokai’s bewitching fiery dance. Dress to impress, as attractive prizes worth up to $100 await the best-dressed, best-designed mask, and the best overall outfit (mask + costume). Date: October 28th | Time: 3 – 6 pm

The Begonia Terrace transforms into an exhilarating battleground on October 28th from 3 to 6 pm, hosting a thrilling blaster gun battle between ‘Humans vs Yokais.’ Armed with foam dart blasters, participants engage in an epic showdown, navigating challenges and dodging dart blasters wielded by their opponents. Quick thinking, teamwork, and an adventurous spirit are essential to safeguard your ‘souls’ and emerge victorious. Register on UPlay for priority queue access or walk in on the event day to participate for FREE on a first-come-first-served basis!

Yokai Coloring Contest

Dates: Weekends in October | Time: 3 – 7 pm | Location: Event Square

Let your little ones unleash their inner artists in the Yokai Coloring Contest happening every weekend in October. They can color their interpretations of Yokai spirits, and two outstanding masterpieces will be selected every week to win $20 Downtown East vouchers!

Step into the supernatural realm with immersive Yokai-inspired installations that offer perfect photo opportunities. Don’t miss the Walk-Through Portal, a highlight this year, where you can step into a gateway illuminated with monster eyes, creating a backdrop for memorable snapshots. Halloween Scream Fest 2023 – A Spine-Chilling Adventure

Dates: October 26th – 29th | Time: 10.30 am – 10 pm | Location: D’Marquee

For the daring souls, Halloween Scream Fest 2023, organized by The Vault Singapore, presents the spookiest haunted house show in Singapore. Step into a world where nightmares come to life at the intricately-designed haunted house with three zones modeled after Singapore’s HDB blocks. Each zone features a different theme and challenges that must be solved within a time limit. Test your creativity and teamwork skills under pressure and fear as you navigate this immersive experience. Choose from four time slots per day, and be sure to capture your moments of terror and triumph within the haunted house. After your adventure, capture memories at the FREE photo booth on stage.

If you need a break from the darkness, enjoy free admission to a variety of F&B and retail booths at Open Plaza 1 and 2. Early risers choosing the 10.30 am to 12 pm slot will receive a “WAKE UP EARLY” $5 F&B voucher!
