Greenbees and TriFactor, two trailblazing companies in sustainability-centric business communication solutions and international sports event management, have joined hands with CIMB Singapore to unveil their inaugural sustainability-driven event, the ‘Great Green Run.’
This exciting venture is scheduled to take place on 24 September 2023 at Marina Barrage, a fitting venue partner that aligns with the event’s eco-conscious ethos.
The ‘Great Green Run’ is not just another sporting event; it is a powerful platform aimed at inspiring and mobilizing individuals, corporations, and communities towards sustainability advocacy and action. Emphasizing its commitment to sustainability, the run plans to be one of the first sporting events globally to transparently disclose its carbon footprints and sustainability initiatives.
To ensure credibility, the sustainability report will be reviewed and verified by the esteemed Singapore Environmental Council (SEC). Moreover, you will be encouraged to make a personal sustainability pledge during registration, aligning with their chosen United Nations Sustainable Development Goal from a selection of five.
This highly anticipated run will feature two distinct categories – the corporate run and the community run. The corporate run is expected to witness the enthusiastic participation of over 2,000 professionals, managers, executives, and technicians (PMETs) from more than 50 multinational corporations (MNCs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Some notable corporations showing their keen interest include RSM Singapore, CapitaLand, CIMB Singapore, SISTIC Singapore, and the National Healthcare Group. On the other hand, the community run is projected to attract over 3,000 avid and leisure runners from all walks of life.
CIMB Singapore proudly stands as the presenting sponsor of the ‘Great Green Run.’ The bank has been a fervent advocate of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, becoming the first ASEAN bank to align with the industry-led, UN-convened Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) and a member of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). With sustainability at the forefront, CIMB continues to pioneer sustainable innovations in its pursuit of becoming a leading ASEAN bank and a trailblazer in sustainability.
Notably, CIMB Singapore has already executed several significant sustainable financing transactions in the past two years, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the cause.
In 2022, CIMB Group doubled its sustainable finance target to RM60 billion by 2024, having achieved its original target of RM30 billion two years ahead of schedule.
