Victorious Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjørn will return to Singapore for the first time since 2012 when he tees it up at the Singapore Classic at Laguna National Golf Resort Club from 9-12 February.
The Dane, who masterminded Europe’s victory over the United States at Le Golf National, Paris in 2018, will be making his first appearance in the country in over a decade when he finished fourth at the Singapore Open.
The 51-year-old, who returned to the winner’s circle with his victory at the MCB Tour Championship on the Legends Tour in December, also finished fourth at the 2005 Caltex Masters presented by Carlsberg, which was also staged at Laguna National.
Joining Bjørn in Singapore is former Ryder Cup teammate Rafa Cabrera Bello, who was unbeaten in three matches during his maiden Ryder Cup appearance in 2016. The Spanish star is a four-time winner on the DP World Tour.
The duo join the previously-announced Li Haotong of China and New Zealander Ryan Fox, who last week received the Seve Ballesteros Award as he was voted Player of the Year for 2022 by his fellow members.
Also set to tee it up in Singapore are the Asian trio of Wu Ashun of China, Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Malaysian Gavin Green.
The Singapore Classic marks the return of the DP World Tour to Singapore for the first time since 2014. The event is organised by Vantage Pointe, which delivers specialised and boutique strategic advisory to a distinct collection of golf-centric businesses.
Single session tickets for 9-12 February are available from $25, while a four-day event pass is priced at $80. All tickets are available here. Entry is free for those aged 16 and under who are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
