Haw Par Villa
Step into a Studio Ghibli-esque world of wild colours and crazy beasties. Since it opened in 1937, Haw Par Villa theme park has been pulling in visitors not only from all over Singapore but also from all over the world. Named after the founding brothers, Haw and Aw Boon Par, the family who made a fortune from the world-famous Tiger Balm, the park is a descent into the deepest, most wild and colourful Chinese mythologies. The brightly coloured statues and tableaus all over the park depict gods and beasts and even the Ten Courts of Hell – a highlight and one of the biggest reasons many people visit the park to begin with. The dioramas of human sinners being punished in the afterlife by a variety of demons in hideous ways are gory and graphic, but the exquisite artwork makes it worth it.
Orchard Road
As the name implies this stunning street is the home of an entire orchard of fruit trees. Not only is it an exquisite place to take a walk and enjoy nature in the city, but Orchard Street is also one of the most well-known shopping districts in Asia. Stroll down the tree-lined lane and sip on delicious speciality coffees or stop for a cocktail. Check out art galleries, get your hair done at one of the many beauty salons, stay at wonderful hotels and snag a few designer pieces to take home as gifts for friends and family while you’re at it. The nightlife here is a great option as well if you like getting all glammed up and going dancing, or why not try a whisky tasting instead?

Fort Canning Park
Here, natural beauty and historical importance meet in one of the most beautiful parks we have ever seen. While it’s not the biggest park you’ve ever been to, this modest-sized break from reality in the middle of the business district is a great place to take a walk for both adults and younger ones who need to blow off a little bit of steam. The fort that the park takes its name from, Fort Canning, is available to be explored. It’s a paradise for history buffs, with its many colonial relics just begging to be enjoyed. There is a 26-room warren-like structure beneath the fort that offers plenty to discover, along with the WWII command post. The fort itself played a vital role in the military politics of Singapore over the years and is well worth a visit on its own, but the greenery surrounding it offers more chances to enjoy the city’s natural beauty
Asian Civilisations Museum
Wherever you travel, it is important that you develop an understanding of and respect for the cultures that you encounter. There’s no better place to learn about all Asian cultures than the Asian Civilizations Museum. The enormous building contains eleven galleries and has over 2000 artefacts just waiting to be discovered. Items in the museum come from all over China and offer a glimpse into Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia as well. On the first floor, you can learn all about trade; on the second, you can learn about religions and belief systems; and on the third, you experience all of the design and materials used to create the well-known Chinese ceramics from the Han all the way to the Qing dynasty. Two newly unveiled galleries on the third floor show visitors many of the fashion textiles and jewels that adorned Asian nobles and Chinese nobles in particular.

Singapore Cable Car
Take in the sights of the city from the best vantage point available: the Singapore Cable Car. Take a trip up to Mount Faber peak from Sentosa Station and have your mind blown by the 360-degree views you’ll encounter. If you’re up for it, the cable car can be booked as a private dining venue. You can treat yourself and your friends to a four-course meal over the 90-minute ride: dine on mouth-watering wagyu beef and smoked duck breast while you look out over the Southern District. If you’re not into wining and dining really high up, grab a coconut ice cream and enjoy the ride.
