Christie’s to Public Preview over US$56-Million worth of Art Collection in Singapore

Christie’s unveils a historic and diverse line-up of over 70 works of art by iconic 20th and 21st century artists from across the East and West, encompassing significant examples of Impressionism, Expressionism, Modernism and Contemporary art.

This will be the most valuable and important collection of art that Christie’s has ever previewed in Singapore before, with a total value of over US$56M.

These additional masterpieces are led by Joan Mitchell (please click here for dedicated press release), followed by Zao Wou-ki, Yoshitomo Nara, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georg Baselitz, George Condo, Zeng Fan-zhi and Marc Chagall, alongside a superlative array of works by celebrated Southeast Asian artists including Georgette Chen, Cheong Soo Pieng, Mai Trung Thu, and many more.

They will be thoughtfully curated to cater to the wide-ranging and increasingly sophisticated tastes of Southeast Asia’s collectors, demonstrating Christie’s commitment and investment in this vibrant and influential region.

On 1 December, Christie’s will present ‘Marc Chagall, Colour of Life: Works Formerly from the Artist’s Estate (Part 2)’, a dedicated auction presenting a superb selection of 20 works by modernist master Marc Chagall, one of the most eminent European artists of the 20th century.

Originating from the artist’s estate, the works have never been offered for sale before. This is the second in a series of global sales dedicated to Chagall, the first of which took place in London in June and was 100% sold with strong participation from Asian buyers.
