REVIEW TIME

We tried the carrot and pumpkin flavors, and am glad to give them a thumbs up!

We liked the homemade and wholesome taste of the carrot cakes. We enjoyed the generous amount of ingredients like radish strands, dried shrimp, mushroom & Chinese sausage. Each mouthful was a medley of textures and flavors.

Stored in airtight container, the cakes can keep in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for 2 weeks (note: keeping in the freezer, texture will change a little)

You can choose to either steam or pan-fry. I chose to pan-fry for that extra kick from the lightly-charred skin.

Cutting the carrot cake into ½-inch thick pieces to prepare for pan-frying.

My favorite of the two is the carrot flavor as I felt the taste of the individual ingredients came together better in this version.

Carrot version close-up. Look at the generous ingredients!
Pumpkin version. Likewise, very generous ingredients.

Amelia’s homemade carrot cake would make a good breakfast, or perhaps a teatime snack to reward yourself in between zoom calls on your wfh days.

Or if you are looking for a bigger meal (lunch/ dinner) at home, check out other local delights you can whip up yourself, ranging from meals that need zero effort, to meals that need a little bit of effort. Or just head out for Dim Sum.

HOW TO ORDER

Amelia’s thinking of new flavors for the carrot cake, seafood or salted egg flavors anyone? Follow their Instagram or Facebook to keep updated and for details on how to order!
