After the sad demise of UBER in Singapore, we have all been waiting for new companies to give Grab a run for their money. Well, looks like our prayers are answered. GOJEK, in partnership with DBS, has just launched a beta version of their ride-hailing app in Singapore.
The beta version of the app is said to be running for few weeks only, within the populated areas of Central Business District, Jurong East, Changi, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sentosa. This is part of the initial gradual launch of GOJEK’s ride-hailing services across the island as more drivers and partners are encouraged to come on-board to fulfill consumers’ demand.
All DBS card members get priority access on the waitlist. All they have to do is to input the code “DBS” followed by the first 6 digits of the Visa, Mastercard or AMEX card (eg “DBS123456”) in the app. Also, they get to enjoy a S$5 voucher credit off their first two rides.
GOJEK is no newcomer to the ride-hailing service. It is a multi-service platform technology group which started in Indonesia last 2015, and aims to expand their business within Southeast Asia. It is well-known for providing various services such as transportation, motorbike delivery and ride sharing services. GOJEK also ventured to payments, food delivery and even logistics.
For the beta app, GOJEK is encouraging riders and their partners to provide feedback on their experience through GOJEK in-app “Help” function, in order to improve and enhance their services as they push through towards the full launch.
The GOJEK app is available for download for both iOS and Android app stores today. It can also be downloaded through www.GO-JEK.com/app.
