If you are a design buff, you would probably have gone on, or at least heard of, the Design Trails of the annual Singapore Design Week. This year, Design Trails returns yet again on 10 and 11 March with not only a new name – The City Ramble Design Trails – but also a new format!
Running for the fifth consecutive year and over 4,000 participants last year, The City Ramble Design Trails is spearheaded by local placemaking studio Shophouse & Co, which has turned to an unusual way – Indiegogo – to fund the much-loved design event due to the change in format.
Previous years saw the Design Trails on a hop-on-ho-off format with different stops. This year, The City Ramble will revolve round three pillars, namely Heritage, Stories and Process. Each of these will feature different stops designed for a different audience.
Shophouse & Co aims to hit a target of raising $20,000 and are seeking the support from past participants and design buffs. They are providing different perks ranging from USD$30 to USD$1900, each of the perks having their own combination of tickets and limited edition merchandise.
