Take a walk back to the golden era of 1980s Singapore and indulge in hawker fare at yesteryear price of just 50 cents.
Held on 29 and 30 July, the 50 Cents Festival is part of the Singapore Food Festival‘s activities at Chinatown Food Street and in its fourth consecutive year.
The two-day event will get a retro ’80s makeover with old school games lined up along the alleyways – have a go at a game of hopscotch, make a mushy song dedication through an old radio station, go biscuit shopping with family at the mama shop and singalong to live Xin Yao performances.
Some nostalgic Singapore hawker dishes include Rickshaw Noodle, UFO (Fried Oyster Cake), Red Glutinous Wine Chicken, Ice Ball and more from the yesteryear of Singapore by old-school, mobile hawkers.
