What started as a joke has now become reality.
Ah Gong had passed on in Singapore, Singlish, the unofficial language of choice for Singaporeans can now become more official. Even brands are embracing it – like Jetstar.

In any case, Jetstar will be introducing Singlish announcements on Tuesday 9 August, as part of the airline’s National Day celebrations.
Customers flying into Singapore on selected Jetstar flights can expect to hear a Singlish version of the familiar on board announcements, made by the pilots and cabin crew.
Originally launched as an April Fool’s Day prank this year, Singlish flights are now a reality.
