omy.sg’s omy Blog Club celebrates latest award win with brand new look and Star Writers Programme

In celebration of its two recent awards and to mark its third year of success, the omy Blog Club site (blog.omy.sg/blogclub) is getting a fresh makeover with more life and vibrancy to reflect its wide range of activities and offerings for omy.sg’s readers, partners and omy Blog Club members. The omy Blog Club is an initiative of omy.sg, the bilingual news and entertainment portal of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH).

omy Blog Club was a Gold Award winner in the prestigious WAN-IFRA XMA Cross Media Award 2012 under the Monetisation category for Social Media. Earlier in May this year, it also came in third in the Marketing Solutions for Advertising Clients (circulation over 300,000) category at the 82th International Newsmedia Association (INMA) World Congress in Los Angeles, California.

With the proliferation of social media usage over the years, advertisers and sponsors are on the hunt for more web engagement and user interaction campaigns beyond direct advertising. omy Blog Club has successfully devised creative solutions for advertisers and partners to engage the local blogging community, at the same time offering bloggers the opportunity to attend various types of content-generating activities and events.

Coming November, omy.sg also has exciting plans to further elevate omy Blog Club’s value for its stakeholders through a special “Star Writers Programme”.

Through its close collaboration with bloggers, omy.sg recognises that many of these individuals are strong opinion leaders with interesting perspectives on a wide array of topics. The Star Writers Programme aims to provide bloggers with an official editorial platform to be heard by first inviting them to be Guest Writers for omy.sg, then further grooming the cream of the crop into Star Writers.
