The bar was raised again with the return of the Singapore Dance Delight Vol.3, presented by F&N. This is the third year for this youth street dance competition and it has been growing in popularity and quality since its inception into Singapore.
Slick choreography, high flying dance moves and vibrant costumes were the norms for the night as 20 of the region’s top dance crews battle it out at Kallang Theatre for a ticket to compete in the international Dance Delight competition and other great prizes.
A total of 43 dance crews from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore competed in the preliminary round, with 20 teams making it to the finals on 17 March, about a month ago.
The judges for the competition this year comes with wealths of experiences and are well-known dance celebrities. Heading the panel is the creator of Dance Delight himself, Mitsuhiro Harada (Machine). His fellow judges include dance Yoshie and Tatsuo, both from Japan; James Brown (Loose Joint) from the US; and Ryan Tan from Singapore, the Creative Director of O School dance school.

To celebrate the vibrancy of youth and dance, F&N Sparkling Drinks organised a series of contests and activities to add to the excitement of Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 3. Fans of the top 20 finalists supported their favourite crew on the F&N Sparkling Drinks Facebook page and helped the top 3 most popular teams win 50 fan packs with specially printed t-shirts and other goodies to reward their loyal fans with.
This year, blog challenge, organised together with omy.sg, saw 5 teams of 2 bloggers each, working in concert to spread the cheer of the Singapore Dance Delight Vol. 3 to everyone via social media channels like blogs, Twitter and Facebook. The winning duo will each stand to win a 3D2N round-trip to cover the Dance Delight in Osaka, Japan. Check out their shared blog on omy.sg to find out what the bloggers have been up to.
