[Discount code inside] Looking forward to more savings in 2015 with the Entertainer

As an ardent user of the Entertainer app, I have saved an estimated S$446 since I started using it in the latter half of this year.

So I am glad that some of my favourite restaurants will continue to avail their offers in the Entertainer 2015 product, and I am excited about trying new restaurants, as well as lifestyle and travel offers, which are coming on board the Entertainer next year.

Meantime, I’d like to share with you some of the restaurants which I have patronised in these few weeks.

Senso Ristorante & Bar

Senso is one of the few merchants in the Entertainer which avails its Prosecco Sunday Brunch (11.30am to 3pm) as one of the three one-for-one offers. There are two prices: $98++ for free flow Prosecco, Rose Prosecco, Italian wines, beer, juices, soft drinks and coffee and tea; $128++ for free flow Ca’ del Bosco Franciacorta sparkling wine, Italian wines, beers, soft drinks, coffee and tea. When I visited Senso on Sunday to use my voucher to give my friend a treat, I was delighted to find an excellent buffet spread of antipasti, breads, cheeses, oysters and desserts on top of an array of hot dishes one can order. My friend and I kept ordering the lamb rack and the sea bass in turn.

Foodies will be familiar with this authentic Italian restaurant in Club Street, which is within a 5 minute walk from Telok Ayer MRT station.

The Curry Culture

The Curry Culture is an Indian restaurant at Cuppage Terrace which has an extensive curry menu which is sure to please every palate. The effervescent waiter is sure to recommend a curry dish that suits you, be it lamb, chicken or fish.

My friend and I ordered the murgh tikka masala and lamb korma, saffron rice and garlic naan. We were served a crunchy appetiser of potato chaat and poppadums on the house, and after our meal, some mint cumin and assorted Indian sweets to freshen our breath.

I have had fluffier naan elsewhere but I was quite happy with the service and my lamb dish; the lamb was very tender and the gravy was sweet and thick with rose syrup and ground cashews. Another plus point is the excellent location and price point. Cuppage Terrace is within 5 min walk from Somerset MRT station. After splitting the bill our feast came up to about $20.50 per person.

Skyve Wine Bistro

This cosy bistro, awarded the Certificate of Excellence 2014 by TripAdvisor, is tucked away at 10 Windstedt Road, and the nearest MRT station is Newton. Just check out hungrygowhere.com for food reviews and you’ll see that it has garnered quite a lot of positive feedback. Its main menu items – entrees like spicy kalbi beef short ribs ($36) and pan seared grouper ($36) and pastas like squid ink pasta ($34) – are highly select and very refined.

Mad For Garlic

Only the pizza and pasta items are available for redemption with the Entertainer at this family-friendly restaurant located in Suntec City Mall, but the Garlic Snowing Pizza ($22.50) and Garlicpeno Pasta ($18.80) are definitely worth a try.

New to the Entertainer next year is PappaSan@ Dorsett Hotel

You might have noticed this restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel in New Bridge Road, directly opposite the Police Cantonment Complex. Its stylish interiors with the giant oil painting of a mystery woman, French sofas and romantic pendant lamps might have got you wondering whether the food is as good as how the restaurant looks. Well wonder no more – buy the Entertainer 2015 app and you’ll get three 1-for-1 vouchers to use at PappaSan. At a recent food tasting session at the restaurant for bloggers, I found out that they serve their unique interpretation of Portuguese cuisine.

I got to try some of the specialties, such as Snow Mountain Baked Fish ($48) and Portuguese Roast Suckling Pig ($79 quarter portion). Ocean mullet is stuffed with garlic, onion, ginger, lemongrass and chili and baked under a mountain of “snow”, which is actually coarse sea salt. The suckling pig is marinated in special Portuguese herbs and served with potato, grilled veg, coleslaw and fried mantou. Both were yummy.
