The inaugural event will take place from 2 to 8 November 2026 at VivoCity’s Level 1 Central Court.

Jointly organised by the National Arts Council and the Singapore Book Publishers Association, it aims to make Singapore literature, or Sing Lit, more accessible to readers of all ages.

The fair will feature books across English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil, covering a wide range of genres including adult fiction and non-fiction, poetry, fantasy, graphic novels, children’s picture books and chapter books.

One of the key attractions is the opportunity for visitors to use our SG Culture Pass credits to purchase eligible local titles. We bought a total of five local books with the $100 credit, topping up just $15 more. According to the organisers, about 80% of the books featured at Singapore Book Street qualify under the initiative.

There are also indications that the scheme is helping to boost interest in local literature. A survey of SBPA members found that sales of Sing Lit titles had increased by more than 300 per cent since SG Culture Pass credits became usable for eligible books in March 2026.

Beyond book shopping, visitors can look forward to more than 30 literary and interactive programmes throughout the week. These include exclusive book launches, children’s storytelling sessions, evening spoken word performances and opportunities to meet local authors and illustrators. Some visitors may also get the chance to have their purchased books signed by the creators.

The event also features a stamp rally with two specially designed stamps by Linda Yew and PK Cheng, both named among the Illustrator of the Year 2026 winners. Visitors can collect the stamps while exploring different zones and participating publishers.

There are also purchase-based redemption activities. Visitors who spend at least $50 can redeem live insta-poetry or insta-sketches by local poets and illustrators. Those who spend at least $100 can receive a Singapore Book Street bundle comprising a tote bag, notebook and stickers, while stocks last.

The event also carries a historical connection to the HarbourFront area. The former World Trade Centre, now HarbourFront Centre, hosted the Singapore Festival of Books and Book Fair during the 1970s and 1980s. Singapore Book Street brings a major book fair back to the precinct, with a dedicated focus on stories published in Singapore.

Singapore Book Street 2026 runs from 2 to 8 November at VivoCity, Level 1 Central Court, 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore 098585. Admission details and further information are available here.
