Japan’s Popular Beef Bowl Chain Matsuya Opens First Singapore Outlet at Suntec City on 31 October

Japanese restaurant chain Matsuya will open its first Singapore outlet at Suntec City Mall on 31 October 2026, bringing its signature beef rice bowls and other Japanese comfort food favourites to local diners.

The opening marks another step in the international expansion of Matsuya Food Holdings, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026. The group’s flagship restaurant brand is known in Japan for its affordable and convenient everyday meals.

Founded in Tokyo in 1966, Matsuya has become a familiar name in Japan’s dining scene, with its Gyumeshi, or beef rice bowls, among its signature offerings. Its menu also features Japanese curries and set meals.

The brand operates according to the philosophy “To be everyone’s dining table”, focusing on making everyday dining accessible through authentic Japanese flavours, satisfying portions, affordability, speed and convenience.
